Maya folded her clothes into her small travel bag. She couldn't believe that this day had arrived. But it was here and she couldn't do anything to stop it. Not with her mother in law down stairs waiting for them.

But wasn't she supposed to be happy? If not for her honeymoon just like any other normal couple do but for her own break. She was supposed to be happy since she was going to take a break from the hospital, but she wasn't.

In fact, her heart was bleeding out. It was hurting so much that she wished she wasn't born. All her life, that has been her wish. To never have existed but if wishes where horses, then beggars would be riding on them.

She wondered what her purpose was on this world. Everyone has a purpose to fulfill in this world but hers, hers was to bring pain. Pain to people even without her wanting to. At least, that's what her dad made her see while growing up.

To feel the pain she caused him. To feel her curse in this world as she was told by him. She was cursed, of course, if not, why was she always the rejected one? The one who was always left behind? The most hated human being in this world? Why?

She took her summer dress, the one she had cat walked in the last round to fold it. It was beautiful and she couldn't help but smile looking at it. It was the one thing that had made her feel strong. Strong enough to face her dear husband.

The one that made Chris's blood boil when he saw her smile. She knew at that time that he wanted to strangle her to death but he couldn't do anything. Nothing but fake a smile and give a fake speech.

How did she know it was fake? He clammed how much he loved her and how much she inspired him to start the line while in real sense, she disgusted him. She made him want to vomit his own intestines out.

That's how much he hates her. That's how much he wants her out of his life. She walked towards her suitcase and returned the dress there. She just felt that it was best not to bring out events of the last week.

To her, she preferred to let the sleeping dogs lie. Maya went back to her packing and when she was done, she zipped her bag and sat on the bed. It was better to let mother and son have a conversation.

Mother. That word. How she wished she had her own. How she wished that she had met her just once in her life. To see her photo if not. But no, she didn't know how she even looked. She was clueless as she is now.

The only person who talked about her was her brother. He was the one who was kind enough to tell her that she looked like their mum and if ever she wanted a photo, she was the photocopy of her. 'So, whenever you want to see mum, walk to the vanity mirror and look at your reflection, and there, only there, will you see her. At times I envy you because you got all her looks. '

That's what her brother would say and she would feel better. She missed him so much that the pain in her chest just increased. He was her hero. Her Knight and shinning armor. The one who understood her better than anyone. If only he was around.

Around when she needed him the most. Around to protect her from this marriage. Around to stop her dad from this madness. Around to hug her tight and tell her that everything will be alright. That's what she needed for her bleeding heart.

To feel protected and to be given guidance. But no, it's like the earth had swallowed him never to be seen or heard again. It wasn't fair at all. Fair that she was born in all riches, yet, she suffered like she had nothing.

At least, poor people have one another to love and protect. When she had no one. Not even her college best friend was around. She didn't come back as she had promised. Instead, Kayle had stayed behind to enjoy herself knowing very well that Maya needed her to be around.
