The room was pure white, except for some grey lines on the cieling and floor that formed a grid. 'Cmon, Isabelle! Let's run through the basics of fighting. We have three days to get you ready." Said the Mayor. "Um, Mayor? Am I actually supposed to hurt people?" I asked. I'm NEVER going to hurt ANYONE if I don't have to. "Well, kinda I guess? It's all in good fun. It's like boxing, nobody gets seriously hurt, and we're all just here to have some fun!" He explained. That made me feel a little bit better about it. "Okay, let's start by seeing how much you know already." He said. "Throw a punch at me! Don't worry, I'll be fine. Just hit me with all you have!" He said. "What?! Why would I do that?! That's terrible!" I exclaimed, horrified of even the thought of hurting the Mayor. "Because if you don't hit me, I'll hit you. Basic self defense." He said. Well, you asked for it, mister Mayor. I casually walked up to him and raised my hand, and very quickly with my other hand gave him a weak fake-out slap across his face, which didn't even move a hair on his head. "Isabelle, come on. You can do better than that. Actually hit me as hard as you can!" He said. "NO! I'll never hurt you!" I shouted. "We'll see." He said. He grabbed my arm and pulled super hard towards him, and threw a full-force punch directly at my gut. It knocked the wind out of me and I collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry, Isabelle! Are you okay?!" He shouted. I gave him a thumbs-up. "Okay, you can't block very well. Let's work on that first thing." He said. He helped me up. Well, I may never forgive myself for this. I slap him across the face as hard as my body would allow, and sent him reeling back. "Damn, Isabell! That was pretty good, actually. Keep that up, and you've got a pretty good chance!" He said, smiling. I immediately regret everything I've ever done. He walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a smile. I smiled back. "I think that's enough for now, let's go get some pizza!" He exclaimed. I'm super down for pizza right about now.
