Teresa's POV

It's been a few months since I left my friends behind, and I never thought I would miss them so terribly. Yes, we talk daily on our group chat, but it's not the same thing. It never is.

Meanwhile, College has started for all of us and I can feel the uneasiness that all that brings.

Newt has gotten in the same College as Tom and Minho, while Sonya and Harriet got in one a few miles from them. I can say I'm the one who is the furthest away.

However, the happiness and confidence on my parents' faces is enough to make me happy, too.

"Mom? Dad? Can I spend next weekend back in California?" I ask them as I rush downstairs to the couch, where they're sitting relaxed.

My Dad lifts an eyebrow in surprise and confusion, while my mom watches me from her sitting position with her head on my Dad's shoulder. Yup. Even after all these years, they still manage to spend their little free time together.

"And why is that?" He asks dragging the words in mock disapproval, and narrows his eyes at me.

I maintain my serious expression even though all I want to do is smile.

"It's Thomas' Birthday on Saturday." I reply shortly, trying not to give out too much of my emotions, but still not being able to hide my small blush.

Newt and Sonya had come up with the idea of me surprising Thomas in his Birthday party that will happen in a few days and, honestly, I can't already wait to get back there and see him, even if for just two days.

My parents look at each other, having a conversation of just their own with their eyes, and I see my Mom nodding  slightly when my Dad says something.

"And where do you think you'll be sleeping if we drive you there?"

For some reason, my Dad's question just causes me to blush even more, and I slowly lower my head so they can't see the color on my cheeks.

"I would stay at Sonya's or Harriet's, I'm sure they would let me." I answer, finally lifting my head. "Please?" I smile widely with my hands behind my back, trying my best to put all my persuasion techniques out of the pocket.

Mom smiles softly as well and she nods in agreement alongside Dad.

I can't help but throw myself at them on the couch, and when they catch me we have a little family moment, without anything worrying us or filling our minds.

After our little moment I quickly rush upstairs, reaching my phone that is on my pocket to tell the news to the girls.

Of course, the three of us start practically screaming when I tell them I'm going to see them, and God, I've never wanted for a week of school to go by so fast as I do now.

And it's all mainly because of him.

A few days later...

I fix a tiny bit of my hair as I look at the mirror in Harriet's bedroom, waiting patiently for the two girls to finish with their makeup so we can head to Thomas' house, since we're all going together.

I arrived a few hours ago and even though I'm a bit tired, the warming welcome the girls gave me totally lifted my mood. They really are the sweetest people on the world.

We cried, we laughed, and we mainly talked until the moment we decided to start with the preparations for the party.

We leave the house when we assure everything is in place and wait for Minho to pick us up, since Thomas' house is a little bit far from Harriet's to go on foot.
