I had initially auditioned for YG. So how did I end up belonging to three different companies? I had no idea. Suddenly, I was contacted by JYP, PLEDIS and Big Hit, who all wanted to recruit me simultanously. Apparently, they wanted me in all three companies at the same time and do some collabs with some of their artists.
Thats how I ended up in front of the CEOs of the three companies. I was so nervous, plus, I had no idea why they had chosen me , of all people, for the job. Sure, I knew how to dance and my voice was okay, but I was very very bad at rapping and my stage fright was the worst.
"So I assume you know why you're here?" Asked one of them
"I honestly have no idea," I replied, "and I was hoping you could explain it to me."
"All three of us feel like you are the future of kpop. You have the talents for the industry: vocals, visuals, dancing and rapping skills."
I cringed hearing that, I had no rapping skills. At all. And I was not THAT good.
"Basically, we want to integrate to one of our successful groups before making you a solo artist - or let you stay in the group, depending on what happens. To choose which company you will integrate, you will through a one year test period."
I was speechless... but I still didn't get how the whole process worked.
"So you mean, I'll spend one year with for example...Twice?" I said hesitantly.
"Not exactly, you will live in a dorm with a JYP, Big Hit and PLEDIS group all at the same time..."
I was so excited, to live with Twice or PRISTIN? Or really any girl group I admired? A dream come true. A smile appeared on my face, despite my nervousness. I never expected that to happen when I moved to Korea three months ago.
" ... which respectively are 갓세븐, 방탄 소년단 and 세븐틴."
Now I let out a shriek of joy. GOT7, BTS and SEVENTEEN! Which just happen to be my favorite groups ever.
"Is this for real?" I asked in a breath.
"Absolutely. However, you do not like our plan, you are welcome to choose any of the three companies present and become a trainee there."
"No, no I am absolutely liking your plan. Thank you for this opportunity."
I did a small bow, bending my head in front of my new bosses.
"We now have other things to attend to so we will leave you in the care of your personal manager Lee Haneul, she will answer all of your questions, explain everything in detail again and give you the contract. I believe she's waiting outside. Goodbye Y/N."
I bowed once more and left the room.
