Chapter twenty-eight

I went to the basement. Dino, Jun and the choregrapher were already working. I knocked on the door and interrupted them.
"Y/N, come in." Chan said.
"This is our choregrapher, he helps us create the choreographies for our songs." I turned to the man next to them and bowed.
"Thank you for helping me."
They then showed their ideas and what they had started to do before I came. I was really impressed, they had already illustrated the right feeling without having the lyrics with the music.
"You already have a lot." I said. "I wouldn't really know what to add."
But they still had plenty of ideas. They showed me all of the moves they had and they wanted to connect them. After two hours the choreo seemed finished to me - without much participation on my part.
"It is NOT finished, we barely started. And even though we're helped by the choregrapher, we need to show it to Soonyoung and Myeongho-hyung." Dino said.
"Oh..."
I saw that I still had a lot to learn as a choregrapher. Before, I was always the one that spent the longest time on the choreos I made. But these guys wanted every single thing to be perfect - which I could understand since their comeback kind of depended on it. After thinking about it during the break that we had allowed ourselves, I started to suggest more ideas to the choregraphers, trying to incorporate more of myself in the song.
"We can't make it too detailed yet." The choregrapher reminded us. "After the recording, we'll be able to focus on perfecting it. For now we just want a general idea."
He watched us perform the routine we had jsut composed together.
"Well done! It's really good so far."
"That's because of your help." I said.
Chan, Jun and I were completely out of breath and sweating. We took our bottles and lied down, sticking my back to the cool floor.
"Are we done for today?" I asked.
"I would've continued a bit, but if tou're exhausted we can stop." Jun said
I was COMPLETELY exhausted, but they looked barely tired. I really still jad a lot to improve. Just at that moment, Hobi and Hoshi came in. I sat down to look at them.
"We heard you were practicing and we wanted to see how it was going." Soonyoung said.
"...and maybe help you a bit." J-Hope added.
Why? Why now? That was the question that popped in my head. I think my relunctance could be seen on my face because Dino lifted me to my feet.
"Come on Y/N, it won't be long. And after you can rest until tonight."
"Ok." I said with as much conviction as possible.
We did the routine over and over again, adfing everytime new elements coming from Hoshi and J-Hope. Jun and Chan didn't even have to do it with me but they continued - I had the chance, I would've stopped right away. I also added a few moves but the majority was done by the five others. It seemed to me that we had spent hours dancing when the choregrapher dismissed us. I was told it was barely two. When we went up, the others were eating a late lunch. We joined them and that's when I realised how hungry I was.
"How did it go?" Mingyu asked.
"...fine, I think. We already did a lot." I answered. "But I'm exhausted. Do you have an infinite energy supply because I really can't keep up."
Evryone at the table laughed at my comment.
"You'll get used to it." Jeonghan said.
"I really doubt it."
I had already eaten half of the food on the table when Haneul called me. I went to talk in the empty living room.
"Tomorrow you have to record most of the songs so you'll spend the day at JYP HQ."
"How many songs?"
"At least three out of five. Possibly more and if we're not finished, it'll be the day after."
"And then? When are we filming the MV? And when will I know my debut date?"
"Soon, but you'll have a break since the music will need some editing."
By that time, I would at least have the music with lyrics so I could continue the choregraphy and finish before the filming of the MV.
"Meet me at 8am tomorrow. At the front door."
"Yes, of course. See you tomorrow." I answered and she hung up. I had to make sure I wouldn't sleep too late tonight, but since I was already tired form dancing, that wasn't a problem. I went back to the kitchen/dining room to resume my lunch but everything was already eaten and cleaned up. Instead, I took an apple and went to my room. I video called some of my friends while eating my dessert. They wanted to know evrything about what had happened, unfortunately I couldn't tell them since I had promised I wouldn't reveal who I was living with, how I was debuting and when - which I still didn't know - much less show them my songs. So all they knew was in which company I was and how exhausting training was. I did tell them about meeting Twice, Stray Kids and GOT7. Since we were in the same company, I considered it was okay. After I was done updating my friends and family, I got a call from Solar.
"Could we meet one day?" She asked me one the phone. "There's someone I want to introduce you to."
"With pleasure unnie! Anytime, just not today or the day after, I have to go to the recording studio."
"Oh you're going to record your songs?"
"Yes!"
"Well I'm really excited to hear them!" She said. "So what about...thursday? I'll have to ask the others - that I want you to meet - if they're free but at least I am."
"I won't have anything scheduled until the filming of my MV so I'm free, but I will have to ask my manager."
"Sure, I'll tell you if I have to change the date."
We talked a bit longer about others things and during my conversation Jinyoung came in my room and sat on the bed. I tried to hang up as quickly as possible but he was waiting patiently.
"Yes?" I said when I was done.
"I'll be coming with you tomorrow, I have to talk to our CEO. I also want to help you for your first recording. Real recording."
"Really? Thank you! At least I'll have someone familiar with me. Last time, Haneul-unnie abandoned me but I was with Twice and then Felix, Changbin, Jisung and Chan. I don't know if they'll be here this time."
"Even if I wasn't going to go with you, you wouldn't be alone." He assured me. Still I was glad he was coming.
