When we arrived, the staff at the reception immediately let us in. However, we didn't go where I expected we would. Instead we took the elevator up til what probably was the last floor. The moment we stepped out and into the incredibly fancy, clean halls, I knew we weren't going to meet my stylists just yet. Haneul knocked on a door and waited for permission to enter. We the door opened at last, I saw my three CEOs seated in the room. I instantly became nervous and tried to greet in the most polite way I could.
"Kim Y/N, at last, you may sit down."
I went to sit in a chair to face them.
"Seeing how your album is coming together nicely, I assume your training is going well." One of them said. I didn't know which one, I was way to shy to lift my head to look them in the eyes.
"Of course it is. I saw to it myself." I recognised Park Jinyoung this time. "Ask her manager."
"Well that's not what we wanted to talk about." The other interrupted. "Y/N, we have something to tell you. My company - BigHit - has decided to debut a girl group. All of the members are already in it, and you are part of the final lineup."
"What we mean is that you will be part of a group rather than being a solo artist. However, we will still go on with releasing your album and for a short while you will be solo. Your next debut will be with a group. The group is not yet ready in any case to be debuted so nothing will happen immediately."
"But-" the Pledis CEO said. "As the group does not live in a dorm together, nor will they ever, probably, since most of the members are against it, you will continue to live where you currently are."
"And seeing as you are going to have a solo career, and your composing, you will be the leader of the group." They finished. I think they were waiting for me to say something as all three of them plus my manager were silent, staring at me expectantly.
"Uhm...thank you for this opportunity." I said hesitantly.
"You have plans for the day so you can go. Lee Haneul can explain everything in detail, give you your members contact, etc..."
"Of course." I answered. "Thank you very much. Goodbye."
I finally breathed when my manager closed the door behind us.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her while we were walking down the corridor, back to the elevator.
"I couldn't, I was sworn to secrecy." She answered with a smile.
"But why...?" I asked. "Why did they change their minds about me going solo?"
"Not my place to ask." She shrugged.
We were silent until we reached our floor.
