why do you hate me?

Summary- Tony and Steve are not together in this one, Tony is incredibly mean to Steve and after so many mean comments, Steve asks why.

After sending out a message that Tony needs everyone to assemble, he sits and waits in his office chair...in his office.

Once everyone arrives he gets the meeting started by first addressing everyone, making sure they're all there.

He starts with the youngest and his most favorite, his almost child Peter.

"Petey?"

"I'm here Mr stark!"

"Lose the excitement, no wait don't I like it." Tony says sending a fatherly wink Peters way.

"Ok, angry shrek?" Tony calls and Peter giggles and the nickname he told Tony to call bruce.

"Here." Bruce says with no emotion.

"Birdman?"

"For the last time stark, I'm not a bird!" Clint yells and Tony chuckles mumbling a small 'here' under his breath.

"Mean lady?" Tony calls and Natasha glares at him.

"I'm here" she says not even bothering to argue. She was mean.

"Wizard?"

"Strange, I'm here." Strange says correcting Tony.

"You are very strange." Tony retorts smiling.

"Lord of thunder?"

"GOD!" Thor corrects mumbling under his breath.

"And finnaly last and certainly least, stardust?"

"Here." Steve says trying to hide the fact that he hates when tonys mean to him.

Steve and Tony have been going at it every second of evey day ever since cap showed up, well tonys been being a jerk and Steve doesn't do anything. He likes Tony and has ever since his blue eyes, met his chocolate brown ones.

He doesn't know the only reason tonys mean to him, is he's trying to hide the fact that he likes him. His coping mechanism is to be an asshole. All the others already have figured it out because anytime Tony had a crush he would be mean to the person he had a crush on. He was the only person aloud to be mean to them though, if anyone else was then he's go off on them.

"Ok guys listen, there's a big alien shop hovering over Brooklyn, we need to fix it their starting to freak people out. Any solutions before I throw out mine?" Tony asks and the others start mumbling to themselves.

"What if you went up and investigated, you could scope it out and then call on us if you see anything." Steve says and Tony glares at him.

"That's an awful plan, you want me the only person who's smart enough to know what's going on to go up there and 'investagate' listen Rogers if your not gonna be smart about it then Don't say anything, I swear I lose eight brain cells every time you speak." Tony says and everyone goes quiet and watches what Steve's gonna do.

But he doesn't say anything, he just looks at Tony with a look of hurt in his face and deep down Tony hates himself for causing it. Tony knows he shouldn't be mean to him but he can't help it. He doesn't want Steve to know he likes him because what if he turns him down? Tony would be to embarrassed to even be near him after that.

"What if I go?" Peter asks breaking the silence, Tony looks at him and smiles.

"Sorry Pete's but I'm not letting you go up there, I don't want you to get hurt plus aunt may would kill me." Tony says walking up to Peter and ruffling his hair. "Listen kid, why don't you go down stairs and hang out in the game room I had built for you." Tony says and Peter sighs a sad sigh.

"But Mr. Stark I wanna help." Peter protests and Tony gives him a look that can only be described as the dad look.

"Fine." Peter mumbles and gets up and walks out.

"We could send Thor with clint." Steve says and everyone goes silent after he speaks. Tony looks at him and does his dramatic eyeroll before speaking.

"Listen I don't take ideas from a human popsicle, so why don't you go running back to the people who actually like you, oh wait their either dead or don't even remember you." Don't says and everyone gasps except Steve.

Steve looks at Tony with nothing but hate in his eyes. He stands up and walks up to Tony, the room being so silent that you could hear a pen drop.

Everyone thinks Steve's gonna fight Tony. They think that at any minute Steve's gonna punch him right across the face. Even Tony thinks Steve's gonna hurt him.

But he doesn't he just says five simple words.

"Why do you hate me?" He asks Tony and Tony stumbles on his words.

He didn't think Steve would ask him that. He had no idea what to say. He was so caught up he didn't even realise Steve had started speaking again.

"Steve i-" Tony tries to get out not he sighs before just telling him the truth.

Might as well do it now, or else Steve's gonna think he hates him for the rest of his life. When in truth Tony falls more and more in love with him each day.

"Steve i don't hate you." Tony says not looking up. He can tell Steve a very upset by his heavy breathing and his stiff posture.

"THEN WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SAY THAT!?!" Steve yells and Tony flinches back from his outburst.

Steve tries his hardest not to crack Tony right across the head. Steve sees the change his tonys face, he sees it switch from anger and hate to something much softer.

"I said that to block out the fact that I am deeply in love with you." Tony says quietly  but loud enough for Steve and the rest to here.

No-one says a word not even Steve he just stands shocked in front of Tony, not knowing what to say.  He had no idea, he had absolutely know idea that the man he loved, loved him back.

"I know you hate me for what I said and you probably never wanna see or speak to me again after all the mean and hurtful things I've  said, but I said those things because I was afraid that if I let you know how I really felt you would turn me down. And now seeing that you don't even wanna say anything in just gonna go and save myself the embarrassment. Which I'm already kinda to late for." Tony says walking past Steve shoving him in the shoulder a little.

Everyone watches as Steve takes a step and stops Tony by spinning him around and smashing there lips together. Tony being  surprised at first kisses him back. When Steve pulls back be looks into tonys eyes.

"I love you too." He says before kissing Tony again.

"Finnaly!" Everyone exclaims  and Tony and Steve laugh.

"I'm sorry I was such a dick." Tony tells Steve and Steve smiles a sad smile.

"It's ok love." He says and they both smile and look at each other with nothing but passion and love in there eyes.

That's not my best one but eh it's kinda cute.
