The girl at the desk looked up at me briefly before beginning to type on her computer. I stood still not saying anything as I waited. Eventually she looked back up at me.
"Yes we do. Second floor room 15," the girl looked back down and I headed to the elevator. I waited for it to arrive and got in, pressing the button for the second floor. The doors closed and the elevator began to move. I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, a feeling of dread, hate, anger, worry, twisting around and pulling at me, asking me to vomit, to sit and cry, to hide.
The elevator stopped and dinged the doors slowly opening. As soon as I could I ran through the gap and looked for a door numbered fifteen. I found it almost immediately and knocked. I waited, almost jumping in place from all the energy cursing through me.
The door opened and the red head looked at me with her eyes wide open.
"Annora," she said.
"Clair."
"Hi! Oh my god! What are you doing here?" She wrapped her arms around me and I cringed.
"I might need some help," I told her, trying to be as nice as I could.
"Of course! Come in! We can talk and you can tell me why you need help and-" I walked past her and into her apartment.
As I came in I couldn't help but be amazed at my luck of choosing the right building where she was. She could've been anywhere and yet I found her almost immediately. It seemed crazy.
She closed her door and pushed me over to her small living area and offered me a drink. I refused and she sat down on her scruffy looking coach.
"Clair, you know how to get a plane, right? I mean, you came here from Chrystal's Island, so I just thought..."
"It's actually called Chrystal's Cave. If you're being formal. But weren't you on the plane as well?"
"Yes, but I was just kind of provided for. I was driven there and told to get on."
"Oh. Well, I can help you, but..."
"But what?" I asked angrily.
"My brother says you're not good for me."
I was angry at myself for what I was about to do. "But, Clair, aren't we friends?"
Her eyes lit up. "Of course! Just give me a few minutes to help with the whole plane thing. Back to Chrystal's Cave? Yes? Okay, I just need a few minutes. If you give me a couple of minutes then I'll be ready."
She got up and rushed into another room, leaving me sitting there, anger growing and growing at Chrystal. I had to pay her a visit. I just wanted to talk to her. Nad if, at a point, she ended up dead, I wouldn't complain. I would make her pay for what she did.
The anger disappeared for a second as I thought about Grayem. He could come, I at least had to thank him for the trouble he was willing to go through for me. I would go back to see him. And then I would go see Chrystal.
