Chapter 40: Flashbacks
Third person’s P.O.V
Regina watched as Emiliana stood up from her seat, exiting the hall. She smiled to herself as an opportunity was just handed to her on a silver platter. She looked at Harry who was watching Emiliana walk away and she could only roll her eyes in disgust and of course, jealousy.
She had never had Harry look at her the way he looked at Emiliana, he had never held her hand in public or taken her out to any event or let alone introduce her to anyone they’ve met. He always treated her like she was nothing, only used her for sex whenever he was in town and that was it and though she didn’t really mind before, once she heard that he was in town with not just any woman but the same one he had been seen with in tabloids countless times, she was furious.
She had to admit, Emiliana was pretty, but not pretty enough to snatch Harry away from her. She looked to innocent and immature and maybe that was what attracted Harry to her but Regina was about to break that attachment.
She tried with Harry earlier in the day but was disgraced and rejected but she wasn’t going to give up so easily. She had tried to break the attachment from the wrong end, the stronger end, when what she was supposed to go for was the weaker one, Emiliana.
“Was?” Emiliana asked. Regina could sense the fear in her, it was clearly shown on her face and she already felt victorious.
“Yes, was. You know, Harry’s changed a lot. He’s been a good boy lately and now I know the reason why but things can be altered can’t they?”
“What do you mean?” Regina smiled, knowing she had gotten Emiliana exactly where she wanted her.
“I mean he had a lot to do this afternoon but I wanted to see if the rumors were true. And believe me, Emiliana, they aren’t the slightest but true.”
Emiliana stared at her and she stared right back, smirk present. And then much to her annoyance, Emiliana turned to face the mirror and turned on the faucet. She basically ignored Regina’s statement and washed her hands as if Regina hadn’t just uttered complete rubbish, which Emiliana believed she did.
“Did you not hear me?” Regina asked, furious.
Emiliana did hear her but she was tired of hearing what came out of Regina’s mouth. This wasn’t the first time and she knew it certainly be the last but right now, she want in the mood to hear it, apparently it was the only thing all Harry’s ex-lovers had to say to her and it was really putting her off.
“You spoke loud and clear so why wouldn’t I hear you?” Emiliana questions her. “If that’s all you have to say I think it’ll be better you just leave. Or maybe I should.”
“You seem more confident than I thought,” Regina says but she had no idea that confidence wasn’t the right words to use. “One thing Harry loves in women.”
Emiliana sighs, wanting to smack this woman in her face. Why did all of them have to sound and be like this? Why did they have to pick on her? Was there absolutely nothing more interesting for them to do?
“Look, Regina,” Emiliana sighs. “I get that you had a thing with Harry and you are completely pissed right now but I’m also not in the best mood either. If you want to say that you still have a thing with Harry or you even fucked him this very afternoon, then I advise you save your breath. I’ve learned to overlook shit like that because it’s not true, Harry would never do that to me. I know him that well.”
Emiliana picked up her pause from the counter and walked out of the restroom, leaving a shocked Regina behind. Even though she and Harry weren’t exactly great at the moment, she was more than certain that he would never do anything to hurt her, he had made it very clear and Emiliana understood it also.
