Dan cleans up the blood on him and changes his shirt. He looks in the mirror and he looks like crap. He has bruises on his face and collarbone and his lip is split. He lifts up his shirt and sees bruises on his chest; they're on his ribs and stomach. He sighs as he pulls his shirt back down. Dan stumbles back into the room pale and dizzy from using too much power. He begins to cry.
Everything is so overwhelming and it's finally weighing down on Dan. Dan sobs until he runs out of tears and afterwards he falls asleep instantly, exhausted. He wakes up maybe a couple hours later but it's hard to tell in a bunker. Based on the time on his phone, he's guess was right and he's been passed out for two hours. He also sees that he has a bunch of missed calls from Jack so he calls him back immediately.
He nervously paces as the phone rings and when Jack picks up, Dan breathes out a sigh of relief.
"Thank god! Look, Dan I'm in trouble," Jack starts. "Your father is after me. He's sent soldiers out because he somehow found out from Skye that I'm on your side. Apparently she said that I'm joining you guys. You have to help me."
"I would love to do everything I can but all the rebels are holed up in some sort of bunker they've created so I can't do a whole lot," Dan explains and Jack sighs. "I'm sorry. I wish there was more that I could do but for now I think you'll just have to run and hide. That's the most you can do."
"Okay thanks anyways." They say goodbye and everything comes rushing back to Dan as he tosses his phone on the bed. He rubs a hand over his face, struggling not to cry his heart out again. All he wants right now is someone to hold him but the last people he wants to see is his brother or Phil.
God I hate myself he thinks to himself as tears rolls down his cheeks but he quickly wipes them away. He wipes the back of his hand across his head realizing how hot he is. God dammit he's too hot from using too much of his powers. He needs someone to cool his down but he knows that going to anyone would be a bad idea. He fans himself panting slightly at his off balance body temperature.
He knows how dangerous it is for him to not cool down but he rejects the idea of getting help. In the past he's gotten heat stroke from a situation like this and he almost died. So Dan finally musters up enough courage to get out of this hot room and go to his brother's room. He softly knocks on his brother's door and after a couple moments, Adrian opens the door.
"Dan?" he says in surprise and Dan nods, gasping softly as the heat becomes more intense. Dan swipes his hand across his forehead again.
"I need your help. Are you alone?" he asks and Adrian nods, stepping out of the way so Dan can come in. "Thanks."
Adrian shuts his door as Dan sits on the edge of the not used bed. "Dan are you alright?" But Dan shakes his head and Adrian comes over feeling Dan's head with the back of his hand. He immediately pulls away. "You're overheating. I'm getting Phil."
But as he turns to the door, Dan springs up and grabs his brother's wrist. "No, don't. He hates me," Dan says but he's unsteady and the room is spinning from him getting up to fast.
"Too bad it's not your choice. You could die, Dan," Adrian says and Dan nods, letting go of his brother's wrist. Adrian turns back to the door and the floor falls out beneath Dan as he passes out. Adrian whirls around. "Oh fuck."
Adrian quickly knocks on PJ's door knowing that's where Phil will be. PJ opens the door and Adrian shoves past him to Phil who's sitting on PJ's bed with a book in his hands.
"Adrian, what's wrong?" PJ asks and Phil sets down the book.
"Okay, Phil, I know we're all upset at Dan-" Adrian starts.
