You're Never Alone

A little while later around noon, everyone is up and changed, ready for their color attack in the city where the rebels are going to join in with them. Each of them put in an earpiece and make sure that their weapons are secure. Phil notices that Dan is oddly quiet but he doesn't seem upset so Phil doesn't push him to talk about whatever is on his mind. All of them sneak out of the apartment and disperse into the city to not draw attention to themselves. Dan opts to stick with Phil and the two weave through alleyways before climbing up a ladder on the side of a building. They stay crouched low and watch the people below.

    Phil makes eye contact with PJ on the building across from them and spots Adrian and Joe in between a couple buildings across the street. Phil looks at Dan but Dan is staring down at his hands so Phil reaches over and places his hand over Dan's. This causes Dan to look up and Phil slightly smiles.

    "Are you alright?" Phil asks and Dan takes a deep breath, nodding.

    "I've just got a lot on my mind right now," he replies and Phil nods in understanding, pulling his hand away and focusing on the task at hand. He touches his earpiece that connects them all together.

    "Are we ready?" he asks all of them and he gets a chorus of agreements. Each of them pull a mask over their face, covering their identities. Phil reaches into his backpack and grabs a color bomb, handing one to Dan before grabbing two of them for himself. "Alright 3...2....1...go!"

    All of them throw the bombs at sides of buildings and towards the streets making people either scream in surprise or look around in search of the rebels as shades of blue and white explode into the air. Soldiers in the streets immediately take notice and Dan and Phil are moving faster than their brains can process. Both of them jump onto the building next to them and Dan notices a couple soldiers below take notice of the two of them. Dan feels his stomach roll in nerves and he knows that if he continues to stick by Phil's side, they'll get caught.

    "Phil and I already have soldiers after us so everyone make sure to stay apart," Dan says into his microphone as he jumps off the next building onto a different one from Phil. Phil climbs down the side of the building he's on and takes the risky move to start running through the alleyways and streets with Adrian and Joe.

    Suddenly more bombs are going off and the streets and tops of buildings are filled with rebels. Phil smiles to himself and feels a moment of triumph until he almost runs into a group of firebenders coming headfirst at him. He instantly turns down an alley, his lungs burning in his chest from nonstop running. They start shooting at him causing him to yelp in surprise as bullets barely miss hitting him. He throws ice behind him and hits a couple of them, slowing them down temporarily.

    Dan jumps from building to building but he has a group of soldiers on his tail, shooting at him. He manages to burn a few of them but his chest is heaving, trying to get oxygen into his lungs. A girl with blonde hair tied up starts running with him and he instantly knows it's Louise. She beckons for him to follow and she takes the lead. Dan follows her as she climbs off the building and starts making her way down a few alleyways. PJ joins them along with Cat and Adrian and all of them make there way back to wherever the rebels are.

    "Back to base!" they hear Phil call through their mics and Dan smiles even as he can barely breathe with his legs propelling him through the city.

    The small group of them are making good time as they continue to run between buildings until they run into a group of soldiers at the end of an alley leading back onto the street. All of them quickly stop and turn around to go back but soldiers are already blocking the way they came from. They're all completely surrounded and they make a circle with their backs facing inwards.
