Miles Vincent
I was sitting on the couch waiting for mum to finish lunch with Amanda.
Amanda is my cousin from New York she came to visit for a few days and it seems that she is enjoying her time her with me and my mum; I felt my phone buzz and I looked at it, it was a text from Caroline.
‘Miles are you busy today?’ it said
‘Yes actually family night, why did you have plans?’ I quickly replayed not wanting to make her wait
‘No never mind then enjoy your time.’ She texted back
‘Okay’ I replayed
‘Okay’ she said
I slipped my phone into my jean pocket and went into the kitchen to see if lunch was ready because I was hungry .
“Hey Mickey!” Amanda said quit loudly
“Don’t call me that, Cupcake.”
“Don’t call me cupcake ever again.” She said
“If you don’t call me mickey I won’t call you cupcake deal?”
“Deal” she huffed
“Mum is lunch almost ready?”
“No honey I need to go to the office so you and Mandy go to the mall and eat something from there and after let Mandy shop for a little while.” She said
“You mean to tell this whole time I have been waiting for nothing.”
“Sorry baby but was about to cook when the office called.”
She kissed my forehead and went to her room to probably change into her work cloths.
“Come on Miles lets go I’m really hungry.”
Getting my house keys and jacket we started walking towards the mall which was about a fifteen minute walk from my house.
“So tell me about your new girlfriend.” Amanda said out of the blue
“She isn’t my girlfriend we’re just friends.”
“You seem to really like her?”
“I do” I said
We got into the mall and went into the fast food area and got our food which we decided will eat when we got home Amanda said she liked a dress when we first walked into the mall so we went into shop and she bought it and we stood outside the ice cream shop.
I felt my phone buzz and I saw it was a text from Caroline
‘Hey what are you doing?’ it said
‘I’m at home with my cousins’ I quickly texted back since I’ll be home in about ten minutes so if she wanted to hang out we can
‘Turn around’ it said
When I looked back there was Caroline with her mother she waved me and then got her bags and left.
“You ok Miles?” Amanda asked
“I think I just screwed up”
