Miles Vincent POV:-

I slammed the door of my house getting tired of hearing my parents fight all the time, I figured I would go somewhere until they cool off.

I decided I would go to for a walk around town and maybe get coffee somewhere.

I was walking and I guess I wasn't looking where I was going and I hit something, quickly I held on to whoever I bumped into and I apologized.

I looked at the person I bumped into; it was a girl a beautiful girl.

"I'm sorry, I was just..."

She started to apologize but I cut her off because it was my fault.

"No I'm sorry I really should looked where I was going"

"How about we agree to disagree?" she said making me smile

"I'm Miles Vincent"

"I'm Caroline Wade nice to see meet you"

"Likewise, um so you want to have coffee with me?" I said

"I don't drink coffee, but thanks for your offer I have to go"

"Will I see you again?"

"Easy boy, and let the faiths decides ok"

She smiled at me and walked away holding a bag that was from the local wig shop, um that's weird I wonder what she will do with it maybe she is an actress or something.

I kept walking around town and decided I would just get something to eat and maybe just go sit in the park.

I was in the restaurant waiting for my food when I heard my name being called I looked back and didn't believe my eyes why did I have to be here.

"Miles? Miles Vincent is that you?"

"Hey Ryan"

"What are you doing here?"

"Just taking a walk in the restaurant didn't feel like walking the streets" I said sarcastically

"Anyways so have you decided on what college you're going to?" he said

"Not yet"

"That's a shame spots are filling up I hope you find a place; I was accepted into Harvard"

"Good luck, my food is here I have to go"

I left without even saying goodbye, he just had to bring the college thing up he knew I can't offered but he just had to rub it in my face.

I was walking and saw a Help Wanted sigh in the book store, I walked inside and asked for the manger it was a middle aged women.

"Hello young man how can I help you?"

"I wanted to ask about the help wanted sigh are you still hiring."

"Yes, I'm Mary and you are?"

"Miles"

"Well Miles you can start tomorrow if you want at ten in the morning till eight at night what do you say?"

"It would be a privilege"

"Well I will see you tomorrow at ten sharp"

"Yes ma'am see you tomorrow"

I walked out the shop thinking with my saving I only need about another thousand to get into the local university.

I finished my sandwich and walked home hoping they would have finished fighting by now.

Closing the door behind me I was ready to walk to my room when my stepdad called my name, I quickly walked into the living room and saw him sitting on the couch with a beer bottle in his hand.

"Where were you all day?" he asked

"I was walking around town"

"Why didn't you tell your mum about where you were going she was worried about you?"

"I'm didn't think she would hear me over the yelling of both of you"

"What did you say too me?" He said standing up.

"Nothing I said nothing" I quickly said

"You don't talk back to me" he quickly punched me before I could react and block his hit.

He kept hitting me and after a few punch I couldn't feel anything everything was just numb.

"William stop your hurting my son stop it!" I could hear my mum yell at my stepdad.

"You don't tell me what to do" The hitting stopped I wished I could stand up help my mum but I couldn't move a muscle.

I heard footsteps and then there was banging I tried again to stand up but I couldn't I let the darkness hit me.
