Loki headed out with the rest of the fellowship early the next morning. Honestly, he had no idea what the hell he was doing. Nor, why exactly he was doing it. there honestly was no reason to but he felt a desire to help these people. If he could help them, than he should. Yet, that had never stopped him before now. Perhaps he actually noted that these people were not like those he was used to. At least not totally. He was happy with them, or at least he hoped to be. And...He trusted Legolas to some degree. Not a large one, mind you, but enough to where he was comfortable with the Elf. Enough to where he agreed to go on some random journey with a group of people he was neither comfortable around, nor wanted anything to do with.
"You came," Legolas said, seeming rather surprised. Loki just nodded, and looked around them. Legolas seemed to notice that he was not really the talking sort.
Legolas moved towards Aragorn, who had signaled him over. "You invited him?"
"Yes," Legolas said simple. Aragorn looked at Legolas, which Legolas realized he wanted more information on why he had invited the unknown person to their group. Honestly, though, were any of them truly known to each other? "He is curious. Young, no more than fifteen mortal years and yet, he speaks with such power and emotion. There is something about him...I am not sure what it is, but I wish to find out soon." Aragorn nods, as though that were an acceptable answer, though it was more than acceptable for an Elf, Legolas continued to forget sometimes that Aragorn was not an elf. "I am curious, and I wish to know more about him. Why is he here? What is his past? Where is he from? There are so many questions in my mind about him. I wish to know them, I thought the best way to observe him would be to have him join us. Furthermore, we all agreed that he would be an asset to us, if not just for the fact that he is capable. He has to know some fighting anyways." Legolas explained more thoroughly.
"Ah, okay, that makes more sense. Suspicious much?"
"I am always such."
Loki sighed from the rock that he was currently sitting atop. The hobbits-he had found the little creatures names-were playing with Boromir and Aragorn was watching them with a smile. The wizard was watching the sky and talking with Legolas, the Dwarf was watching the Elf with narrowed eyes. Loki was behind everyone, watching them and their movements. He did not feel the need to get closer, nor did he really want to get much closer anyways. He simply wished to sleep. The pain that he had been pushing to the side for a long whiles was close to breaking the surface, and he most certainly did not wish to entertain what that would mean for those around him. Sighing deeply, he stood and looked at everyone, before gazing upwards at the sky. It was certainly beautiful. It was a lovely place to stay for the evening. The sky was so beautiful. Loki could not stand being stuck indoors, it was stifling and made him want to simply burn everything to ash. Not that you can really do that with Gold unless your flames were hot enough, trust him, the amount of times that he had attempted to burn the castle down and almost every time he failed. It was annoying. Yet when he did succeed, the fire was put out so swiftly it made him regret the efforts anyways.
"Master Loki!" Loki looked down to see one the the small creatures-Pippin was it? odd name-looking up at him with wide eyes.
"Yes?""Could you tell us a story?" Everyone stopped, curious to Loki's answer. They were all currently gathered around a fire. Dinner was being served all around.
"A story?" Loki asked curiously.
"Yeah!" Pippin said with hopeful brown eyes.
"I am afraid that perhaps my stories are not suited to this atmosphere."
"Pleeeeeeaaaasssseeee? We don't care about that." Loki sighed heavily and cursed his motherly nature. He blamed it on his being a Frost Giant and the fact that had already mothered three children. It was the only thing that made sense.
"Very well. But beware, this is not going to be a fun tale."
