The next day Danny was walking with Ron and Hermione to Hagrid's, the poor man had gone to trial that day because of the incident with Buckbeak. Hermione spoke, "Beautiful day."

Ron spoke, "Gorgeous, unless of course you mean ripped to pieces."

Danny raised an eyebrow, "Okay, what the hell is going on?"

Hermione spoke, "Ronald has lost his rat."

Ron looked scandalized, "I haven't lost anything, your cat killed him."

Hermione seemed to be getting mad, "Rubbish."

Ron looked at him, "Danny, you've seen the way that bloodthirsty beast of hers is always lurking about, and Scabbers is gone."

Hermione looked at Ron, "Well maybe you should learn to take care of your pets."

Ron glared at her, "Your cat killed him." They then started saying did and did not to each other like that was a good way to settle an argument. When they finally got to Hagrid's they saw him skipping stones by the lake and Hagrid saw them but just kept skipping stones.

Hermione spoke, "How'd it go Hagrid, the hearing?"

Hagrid looked at a stone he was thinking about skipping, "Well, first off, the committee members took turns talking about why we were there." He tossed the stone, "And then I got up and said my piece, said that Buckbeak was a good Hippogriff, always cleaned his feathers. And then Lucius Malfoy got up, well you can imagine, he said Buckbeak was a deadly and dangerous creature who would kill you as soon as he looked at you."

Hagrid tossed the stone and Hermione spoke, "And then?"

Hagrid quietly sighed, "And then he asked for the worst old Lucius."

Ron spoke, "Not sacking you."

Hagrid glanced at Ron, "No I'm not sacked." Hagrid looked like he was going to cry, "Buckbeak's been sentenced to death."

Hagrid tossed a stone into the water and it sank as soon as it hit the surface and Hagrid started to cry. Danny whispered, "Tell me he'll be okay, please." The hand on his shoulder tightened it's grip just a little to tell him that it would be okay. With that in mind Danny walked into the lake and stood next to Hagrid, "It'll be okay, I promise."

Hagrid didn't say anything and Danny just stood next to him, he was terrible at comforting people. Later that night he was sitting in bed in his dorm, it was late and everyone else was asleep but Danny was awake. His insomnia was keeping him up so he decided to look at the marauders map and hoped it would make him tired.

Ron suddenly woke up saying something about spiders and looked at him, "Spiders, they want me to tap dance, I don't want to tap dance."

Danny looked very confused but replied anyway, "You show this spiders who's boss Ron."

Ron nodded, "Yeah I'll tell them." He then mumbled that as he laid down again and he was out like a light in seconds. Danny just shook his head before looking at the map again and he moved part of it and saw a name he shouldn't have. The name 'Peter Pettigrew' was on the map and Danny felt like his heart would have stopped if it was beating.

Death urged him to get up and he did just that, he grabbed the map and quietly made his way out out of the dorms. As Danny was walking he saw that the portraits were asleep and he kept looking at the map to make sure he knew where Pettigrew was going. He stopped some distance away and watched, he took out his wand just in case and waited for Pettigrew to come to him.

As Pettigrew got closer he heard what sounded like the clicking of nails or claws on stone which he found odd. His instincts were like sirens at this point and when Pettigrew got closer he looked around but didn't see anyone. Danny looked everywhere around him but didn't see anything and he was beyond confused but his instincts weren't screaming at him anymore.
