a/n: This is an interesting one! I had an idea myself a few weeks ago about Luke falling in love with a girl from Tatooine before he left with Ben. I imagined a scene where Leia and Han were asking him if he had  "a girl back home", and Luke in fact did at one time. But would she even remember him? Did she ever even love him? So I imagined this scene to accompany it where Luke returns to Tatooine to find her and they reunite...well, last week this angel on tumblr sent me a request for a Luke x Reader with a "first kiss" scenario. And I thoUGHT "THIS FITS PERFECTLY WITH MY ORIGINAL IDEA"!

The "first kiss" addition to this story was requested by the aforementioned angel, @/tom-parkers-girl on Tumblr. I hope you enjoy this, dear one! <3

summary: (whoops already kinda gave you one) Luke remembers a time in his youth before his quest to become a Jedi Master when he had fallen in love with a girl from his home planet. As the years passed as he traveled far from home, he wonders about you. With the nudging of Han and Leia, Luke sets out to return home in hopes to find the girl he left behind so many moons ago. But doubts plague his heart. Would you still be there? Did you ever think about him?  Did you even love him as he had loved you long ago?

It had been two months to the date since the Rebellion, built on the hope of rogues and rebels, had successfully won the war that had ravaged the galaxy for decades. The Battle of Endor still burned with a fresh memory in everyone's minds, the scent of the burning forest, and the sounds of the Empire's war-machines still resonating. Now, with a hard-earned victory under their belt and a galaxy to look after, the Rebel Alliance began picking up the pieces that the Empire had left desolated and scattered. Allied treaties and relief efforts spanned and spread throughout the galaxy as peace slowly took root again in every devastated planet.

Many who served their duty during the battle against the Dark Side began to return to look elsewhere for their new paths in life. Those who could remember the peaceful time before the reign of Darth Vader searched for a way to return to that way of life. The younger generation - those who had grown up under the oppression of the dark times - began making efforts to create a better life for themselves, whether by remaining in service to the Alliance or settling down somewhere in the galaxy.

Among the youth who knew of no other way of life was Luke Skywalker, the newly ranked Jedi Master who had at one time carried the fate of the galaxy in his hands. But as everything began to settle down, Luke found himself returning to his memories of his old life, before his quest began with Ben Kenobi.

Among those memories was a young woman named (Y/n) (L/n), whose sand-swept (h/c) hair framed her soft (s/c) face that had been kissed by the twin suns' relentless gleam, who had once enraptured his boyish infatuations. However, as those first few months with Ben became years of service to the Rebel Alliance and the Jedi religion, Luke began to realize that his fond feelings for you had surpassed the distance that had separated him from you. With his affections still lingering with nostalgic yearning, Luke began to realize that it could no longer be the whims of infatuation. Infatuation was a fleeting feeling of affection, a short-lived fuzzy sensation.

What Luke harbored for this Tatooine native was stronger than that; it stood the test of time, the test of torment and distance, the test of the unknown. He suspected it was love. Honest to goodness, no-doubt-about-it, true love.

What else could explain the memories that flooded his mind when he heard a voice similar to yours echo an order through the docking hangar? Or the way he sometimes thought he caught a glimpse of you through the crowds of the base? Or how he felt a twinge of envy when Leia and Han held each other or kissed? He wished he hadn't missed his chance with you. But it was far too late to change things now.
