Forty-One

"Hello and good morning good people." Cane said coming into the kitchen with Jake on his hip.

Atlas and Bella took their attention off their cereal and looked at Cane with amusement. Bella took note that most of their encounters happened in the pack kitchen.

"So you two are getting along now?" Atlas quirked an eyebrow, stuffing another spoonful of cereal in his mouth.

Cane gasped dramatically and clutched his chest with one hand "How could you say that? We always got along. Right Jake-flake?" Jake nodded and giggled.

Bella wheezed at the nickname while Atlas chuckled. "Jake-flake. Really Cane?" Atlas had tears in his eyes and Cane glared at them. "So I'm not perfect boohoo."

"Hey can we go to a movie theater later? There's this movie I really wanna watch." Bella asked, interrupting their banter.

"Of course. What movie do you want to watch?" She grinned childishly "Don't judge but, Merry Poppins Is Back."

Both Atlas and Cane looked at her with the are you serious look. "Why would you want to watch a children's movie?" Cane accused.

"Because it's fun!" Bella defended. "Cane." Atlas started sternly. "She wants to watch it, she'll watch it. End of discussion." Bella smiled warmly at him.

"What do you wanna watch little one?" Cane lightly tickled Jake's belly and proceeded to take a glass while Jake giggled "I wanna watch what the pwetty wady wants to watch." He said in his adorable baby voice smiling with his pearly white tiny teeth on display.

"Can Eira come too? She'll be here in a few minutes." Cane's eyes lit up and Bella's head snapped to Atlas. "Who is she?" Bella couldn't deny nor explain the jealousy she was feeling upon Atlas mentioning another girl's name.

Atlas looked at her and grinned, as if he knows exactly what she is feeling at the moment.

"My sister." He explained and watched her facial expression morph into one of shock. He laughed lightly and she was quick to compose herself "Of course! I'd love to meet her." He smiled "You'll love her. She just turned sixteen a few days ago but couldn't find time in her schedule to come to visit us." Cane snorted while he helped Jake drink the juice he poured him.

"She keeps jumping off one guy to another." Atlas laughed "I was so furious when I caught her doing it with her boyfriend once." He had a slight blush on as his eyes filled with tears from laughing.

Bella made an ew face as she laughed too "Oh my God! The poor girl must have been so embarrassed!" She yelled, feeling sorry for the poor girl that got this protective beast for a brother.

"Nah, she went wild and told me to stay out of her sex life, which I gladly did. I really find it appalling thinking of my sister like that." He cringed and Cane laughed while he let Jake play with the cookies. "We almost fucked once. Atlas got so furious and punched me so hard I went in a coma for a week."

Bella's eyes widened "You guys are mental." Atlas chuckled and Cane winked "Always been."

Suddenly the door to the kitchen flew open as an intimidatingly tall female with long black hair entered the room and threw herself at Atlas.
"Hey big bro." She said in a strong voice which was muffled by his chest.

"Hi chubby bear." He smiled at her, showing off his pearly whites and his eyes shining with happiness and delight.

Chubby bear? Why the damn did he just call her a chubby bear? This girl looked so fit, slim with perfect curves and beautiful hair.

"I missed you so much! Now where is your mate?" Bella spoke up this time "I'm here." Eira's wide eyes met hers as she smiled from ear to ear. "I'm Eira James. Nice to meet you." Bella was about to shake her hand when she hugged her.

Bella was taken by surprise, but this girl is full of energy and she radiates happiness. "I'm Bella." She nodded "I know. Atlas told me a lot about you. And I mean a lot." Before Bella had a chance to ask what she meant, she started talking again "Now let's go see that movie! Where's Cane! I wanna see Cane! Also Jonathan and his son, I don't like his wife much but I like his son." She rambled on and on, and Bella stared in awe. This girl was so pure and amazing.

Jake ran in first and into Eira's arms and she gladly cradled him. "Hi." He spoke cutely and hugged her. "Hello, handsome. I see you melting a lot of girls' heart, huh?" He giggled. "No. I'm a good boy. I tweat wadies with wespect." He spoke proudly and I pouted at his adorable behavior.

Then Cane walked into the room, as Eira put Jake down to greet him. "Hey What's that sme-" he stopped mid sentence when Eira straightened up and looked at him.

"Mine." Cane growled and pinned Eira to the counter. Eira gasped and smiled lightly, while Cane had a murderous face on.

Cane was delighted that Eira was his mate, they hung out when they were kids a lot, but then his wolf growled and started putting pictures of his mate with other men in his head.

He growled "Mine." And pinned her to the counter with his wolf still putting the images in his head. Finally he came to a halt, then put in the picture of his mate moaning out that guys name when they caught them.

Then he decided. I'm gonna hunt down and torture every single one of them till they beg me to kill them. He then stepped away from Eira and stormed out of the kitchen.

Little Jake confusedly ran out behind Cane while Eira whimpered and tears filled her eyes. "Cane." Atlas snarled and stormed out behind him.

Bella was the only one left with Eira and she felt extremely awkward since Eira had tears running down her face.

She was about to go comfort her when there was a gush of wind in the room and there was Cane, standing in front of Eira and whimpering.

"Baby, no." He said and wiped away her tears. "Come on. I'll explain it to you."
