Eight

Bella's pov

"So what happened?" I asked them after I woke up in my room with a big headache. Well it was a guest room but I usually slept there so I called it my room.

I had a big headache when I woke up so they gave me pills and left me to sleep it off. Now that I'm awake, I called them in to tell me what happened.

"I just remember being in the parking lot and Julian came, I don't remember anything after that." I said trying to remember anything, but nothing came up in my head.

"That's because nothing happened after that!" Emma exclaimed making us all flinch. She muttered an excuse and continued "You passed out because of dehydration. We took you yo the doctor and he said not to worry and to take you home. We didn't tell your dad because we didn't wanna worry him." I nodded taking the information in.

"Okay but where's Julian?" I asked looking at my two best friends. "And Jake?" I asked even more confused. "They're on their way, don't worry." Tyler said with a cute smile.

Suddenly the door barged opened and a wide eyed Jake and Julian came in "Speaking of the devils." Emma muttered avoiding their eyes.

"Baby. How are you?" Julian said softly coming towards me and spreading his hands for a hug. I hugged him back and noticed Jake behind him putting some stuff away on the couch.

"I'm fine, thank you. Can you now explain to me what happened?" They all looked at each other and shared a small nod. "Okay. It's not really our place to tell you but we will. Don't be frightened and listen to us, please."

They all sat on the floor with Julian sat in front of me. He took a deep breath. "We're werewolves." And so everything came back to me. The parking lot. Their moving in inhuman speed. The eye color change. Their behavior and anger issues.

I started blinking repeatedly to try and understand everything. "Bella, baby are you alright." Julian said cupping my face in his large, rough hands. "I-I but how?" I looked up at him with teary eyes. He looked broken, "And why are you telling me all of this now?" I said a tear escaping my eye.

Julian wiped it right away "No baby, please don't cry. We'll tell you everything you need to know and answer all of your questions. Okay?" He looked at me and I couldn't help myself but wonder, why is he even hanging out with me. He's way to precious for me.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I croaked out. Julian stretched his hand out and got me a glass of water from the nightstand. I took it and drank all of it in a matter of seconds.

"You see, in our world, we have laws." Tyler started. "And whatever we do, we can't break those laws." Jake continued. "One of the laws was, we can't tell any humans. Unless." Julian finished for him. "One of the humans is a mate of a werewolf."

Emma started explaining "A mate is basically a soulmate. You two are made for each other. You are each other's better half. Humans have human soulmates too, but it's easier to find them in werewolf world. By their smell; your mate always has a unique smell and you're always drawn to it."

"Also the tingles you feel when you two touch." Tyler added.

"And you also think they have the best appearance ever, like you think they're the person just right for you." Jake also added.

"Although, there is a way of not excepting your mate." Julian started and everyone in the room snapped their heads to him.
