"Uhh... I live here," Nathan retorts to the Terrance's question, speaking lightheartedly, but it didn't brighten his mood at all.
"Aren't you suppose to be working today?" he asks in an unamused voice that Y/N had never heard from him before. The blonde's smile wipes clean from his face, but he tries to stay cheerful. It wasn't unusual for Terrance to be in a mood nowadays, so he knew better than to sour it even further.
"Yeah, but I called in sick, since I had a bit of a hangover earlier. I was home all day, actually. I've just been in my room. Good thing too, otherwise I wouldn't have met your friend over here." He gives a soft laugh, though, Terrance didn't find the situation funny at all. Y/N clears her throat to clear the tension and stands up, directing the attention of both males towards her. Her grip on the box tightens as she takes in a deep breath. The time has come to confront him.
"Terrance, I wanted to talk to you alone, if that's okay?" Her voice wavered some, but otherwise, she stayed calm. A sparkle twinkles within the man's baby blue eyes as his heart starts to pound in excitement. Forgetting all about Nathan, he grins and nods his head.
"S- Sure! We c-can go to my room." He ushers her to follow him out of the living room, more than happy to separate her from the slightly older male. Y/N reluctantly trails behind him before sending Nathan a thankful smile for keeping her company while she waited for Terrance. He smiles back and waves, but felt a weird pit form in his stomach as he watched them leave. The instant their guest had turned away she gave a worried frown and fear had shown in her E/C eyes.
It wasn't his business, but he couldn't help but feel a little concerned. The closer they got to the bedroom, the faster their hearts began to pound, but it was for different reasons. Terrance was so ecstatic to have her in his room again that he didn't even realize the reason why she wanted to see him, even though it was obvious. The first thing Y/N noticed upon walking in was the empty rabbit cage and, in an instant, she felt her stomach drop. She wanted to turn and leave, but the door was shut, and Terrance gave her a shy, but cheerful, smile.
"T-Terrance—"
"I'm happy you came t-to see me. I was really worried that you m-m-might not come to see me again after you saw my gift. Did you like it, Y/N? Please, tell me you did." He steps forward, and she steps back but quickly plants her feet and hardens her gaze. Now was not the time to show fear. She was getting to the bottom of this.
"Actually, this is why I came." She harshly places the box on the bed before looking back at him. He seems taken aback by her tough expression and slightly tilts his head as tears start to well in her eyes. "That wasn't... Why would you give me something like that, Terrance? Do you hate me or something? Is this because I rejected you? This isn't okay!"
