The days passed by normally for the most part since the day Terrance admitted how he felt about me, except for the fact that the pink-haired boy hadn't come anywhere near the shop, which was understandable. He looked absolutely wrecked when I told him I wasn't interested in that type of relationship with him, which also made me worry. Terrance is a very sensitive guy, so I hope he's doing well. What if I was too harsh on him? I really didn't want to hurt his feelings, since I value our friendship, however, I knew it was better to tell him the truth rather than string him along.

'Maybe, I'll walk over to the library during my lunch break today? I'll bring him a cake too as a peace offering.' The thought brings a smile to my face as I wipe down the counter with a pale blue rag to get rid of the dust and smudge marks on the glass. I know he might not be ready to face me yet, but I would like to see how he's doing regardless, since I feel a strange pit in my stomach. I'll leave if it seems like he doesn't want me there.

I lift my head when the entry bell rings and am surprised to find Terrance standing in the threshold with his head hanging low, causing his messy, pink locks to cover his eyes. He lingers by the door, timidly fiddling with a paper held in his trembling hands as he sends me a quick glance, allowing me to see the dark circles underneath the man's cotton-candy blue eyes. The next moment, he lowers his gaze to look back down at the blue and white, checkered floor before he slowly makes his way over to me. I smile lightly to show that I'm happy to see him, while he fidgets before setting the paper on the counter.

I open my mouth to greet the male only for him to turn his heel and race out of the sweetshop without a word. I continue staring at the entrance in shock before breathing out a disappointed sigh, realizing he's gone back to being shy around me. I remember, back when I first met him, he could barely mutter out his order, but I stayed patient and recommended that he try the pomegranate mousse. He agreed to sample it and ended up liking it very much. Since then, he's returned again and again with the desire to try something new on the menu each time. The memory brings a smile to my face as I pick up and unfold the piece of paper Terrance left me before reading it.
