"We are home!" Johnson shouts waking me from my sleep. I roll over and check the time, 6:30. I groan and roll out of my bunk grabbing a shirt. The first half of our tour across the west coast was over, and we have a two week break before the East Coast portion starts "Breakfast?" Kenny asks looking out the window at the Happy Chef across from the bus "Well yeah we hit it as we left, why not hit it coming back in?" Johnson says opening the tour buses door and walking out into the early morning air. "Let's go princess" Sammy says passing by me to the door "I'm coming!" I say grumpily combing through my hair with my fingers. I walk into the all too familiar building, the wallpaper is still peeling, the booth we always sit in is still torn and the tables are forever sticky. "Why did you pick this place?" I ask Johnson peeling my menu from the table "C'mon Jack lighten up" he says nudging my shoulder "Alright guys what can I get you?" The waitress asks standing at the end of our booth as I scan the menu. "Your number will do" Jake says and the guys laugh. I shake my head looking up. "Kylie?" I ask seeing the familiar blonde hair pulled back into a tight pony. "Kylie Benson?" I repeat almost in disbelief "Hi Jack" she says giving me a half smile. "What can I get you?" She asks quickly averting my eyes. We all order and I slump back into the booth. "Kylie Benson, damn I want a piece of that" Sammy says joking "Shut up Sam" I snap. Kylie and I had a past, a great one from my POV, but I screwed up when I cheated on her, twice. She was always the nice girl, her light blue eyes and blonde hair hid how insecure she was, but I had exploited it. Looking back I felt like such an asshole. "Here you go" Kylie says setting down the drinks we ordered. "Hey can I talk to you?" I ask suddenly sitting up, she bites her cheek "Um, no, no you can't" she looks around searching for something to pull her from this moment "Listen I've gotta go" she says darting away from the table "Smooth as ice, Gilinsky" Kenny says sipping down a lemonade "Yeah whatever" I say and give him a half hearted smile "So what babes we hitting up this weekend?" Sammy asks scrolling through his contacts "I'm thinking we need to throw a party" Johnson says raising his eyebrows at me. Oh no.
