She pulls her hand from mine "Jack, no, this isn't real" she stands up walking towards the door, but I rush over placing my hand against it so she can't open it "Kylie, I'm serious, I know I hurt you, but-" "If you know you have hurt me why are you doing this?" She screams almost in tears "Doing what?" I ask softly my defensive stance melting as I slouch against the door once again feeling like a jerk. "Playing this joke! It's not funny, not to me" I rest my hand on her waist watching a tear slide down her cheek "This isn't a joke" I tell her quietly, she wipes the tear and grabs the door handle wedging it open. "Kylie, wait please-" "No, I'm done waiting for you to be the guy I want you to be" I grab her arm "I'm not the same guy I used to be, trust me" she shakes her head closing the door and walking back over to the desk chair. I retreat to the bed and watch as she hugs her knees "I shouldn't have done any of those things to you" she scoffs "Shouldn't have done what?" I sigh "I shouldn't have used you, or lied, or pulled you into the trouble I was in, and I shouldn't have cheated on you" she starts crying "You made me feel worthless Jack" I can feel my own throat swell "I know, I know what I did to you, and I'm sorry" I stand up pacing back and forth across Jacks room "You know I went on tour and met all these fans, they were so easy to fall for, because they had already fallen for me" I sigh running my hands through my hair "but they hadn't fallen for ME, they'd fallen for who they thought I was, and every time I picked up a drink or hooked up with someone I knew I was hurting them" I walk over to her and squat down in front of her resting my hands on hers "the worst part is I cared more about not hurting them, they didn't even know me, but I hurt you" I wipe my own tear with the back of my hand "and you knew a me nobody in the world has ever seen" I reach over and wipe a tear from her cheek "I want that back Ky". She sighs putting her legs down so I sit back on the edge of the bed "When I saw you today, everything I'd ever felt for you came rushing back and I just want it so bad" I feel my voice quiver "So what do you say?" I ask my eyes pleading her, but she looks away "I wish I was on the same page Jack, but we are in completely different books" she stands up again "What do I need to do to change your mind?" I ask standing up to face her. "Just prove you mean what you say this time" she says grabbing the door handle and leaving. I get back on to Jacks bed and throw his nerf basketball against the wall 'but how do I prove it?'
