A.N. There is a foreign language in here, which I do not speak, so I used google translate. Forgive me if it is wrong and feel free to comment the correct way. I will also put the English translation as a comment on the section in question. I usually try not to write in languages that I don't speak and I as the story goes I will usually use italics to set off when I character is speaking a foreign language, but I felt like what I did was needed for this chapter.
Natasha's P.O.V.
"So, you and Morse?" I asked as Barton and I sat at a café across from where the spa we think that the scientists are using. We had been scoping it out for a few days now but haven't noticed any definite give away signs.
"Yeah, what about us?"
"Nothing," I said, taking a sip of my coffee, my eyes raking across the square. It was a little more difficult, with the addition of tourist, either taking pictures with the mosaic tiled street or trying to get pictures strings of flags that crisscrossed over their heads. There was apparently some festival going on, which was helpful for our cause as it created an influx of people into the city, but also bad for us because it created an influx of people into the city. "She doesn't seem like your type."
"I thought she wasn't either, but we had been talking for a while and it just seemed right, but we should be focusing on the mission, the sooner we get done, the sooner-"
"You can see your girlfriend, and don't worry, I can multitask."
"Sure. Hey, I was thinking that since we're in charge of our own extraction that maybe we could take an extra day when this is all done and see the sights."
"You just want to see the book fountain." He had begun to respond, but I raised my hand cutting him off. "Nine o'clock, blonde guy in the blue polo. Is it just me or have we seen him before?"
"Maybe, he looks kind of familiar but – Natasha, what are you doing?" Clint hissed the last part at me as I got out of my chair and began to cross the square.
"I'm going to see if I can that nice man can give us a recommendation, honey," I told him, my voice and smile overly sweet, before continuing my path toward the man who I was pretty was entering the spa for the fifth time in three days.
"Um, sir. I'm sorry for bothering you, but my husband and I," I gestured to where Clint is sitting "Are here on our honeymoon, and we had heard this was one of the best spas in the city. And well, you look like somebody that knows his way around that area, so I was wondering if you would be able to give us a recommendation." I batted my eyelashes at him and tried my best to play naïve, adopting a Californian accent to try and help me.
"That depends, what are you looking for?" The man had an accent that he was trying very hard to cover up, and from what I could hear it sounded like it had more Russian roots than Hungarian.
"Well, we heard that they have a treatment that helps reduce aging and increase strength. We're both going to start training for a triathlon when we get home and thought if we could find a way to help while here why not try it."
"Wait here, let me talk to my boss." The man told me before going inside the building. I tried to catch Clint's eye from across the crowded square, but I wasn't sure if he could see me. Damn tourists. After about ten to fifteen minutes the guy came back. I had started to get antsy, nervous that this was going to go south, or that the guy had no idea what I was talking about.
"I talked to my boss, he said for you and your husband to come back here tomorrow at six in the morning. The treatment takes a few hours, and that should help you beat the foot traffic."
"Oh really, thank you so much for your help. I would've tried to ask myself, but my Hungarian is horrible." I flash another smile before heading back to Clint.
"Well, I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is, I got us in, the bad news is, it's at six in the morning."
Clint groaned, "Because of that I say we now get two days before we go back."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure that's what you want to wear?" Clint asked, gesturing to the wrap dress that I had on.
"Yes Barton, we need to act like we're a couple going for a spa day and this is typically something that a woman would wear to the spa."
Clint raised his hands in mock surrender, "Ok, if you say so, just didn't want you to feel uncomfortable, it just looked kinda short and shows a lot."
"Don't worry Barton, it takes a lot more than a dress to make me feel uncomfortable, now let's go, I'm pretty sure that these guys won't be too happy if we show up late," I said, grabbing my bag, which contained some normal spa gear, along with some handguns and a special case for the vials. We were going in without comms on this, just in case these were are men, we didn't want to have anything on our bodies that would make them suspicious.
As Barton and I began our walk I noticed how much calmer the city was before all the tourists were awake. I could definitely understand living in a place like this, at least I could if I lived a life that would allow me to settle down anywhere. I also noticed during the walk that Clint kept close to me, closer than he had during this whole mission. I noticed him giving dirty looks to any man that spent more than three seconds looking at me. It's like he's trying to protect your virtue, too bad his mission is doomed to fail as you have nothing that could even resemble virtue left.
We arrived at six right on the dot and tall, blonde, and sketchy let us in and led us into the back of the spa area.
"Not going to lie to you guys, my wife, Courtney, just couldn't stop raving about this place last night, so you have some big expectations to live up too," Clint said as we were led to a room that looked like a room for massages, except for the iv stands that were placed on the right side of both beds.
The next voice that I heard, made my heart stopped, and my lungs started to constrict as I memories of the Red Room started to wash over me. "I'm sure that Natalia won't be disappointed. Разве это не так, мой маленький паук?"
