Chapter 8: Hate My Fucking Life

Jaden's POV

Right when I got there, I got questioned about where was I and who was I with. But I just lied and said that I was alone. Of course they called my foster mom. Which really sucked. I guess that they called my mom to see why I was absent but she explained the whole Gus and I situation. They also called Gus's mom from what I've heard. I'll admit, I was kinda scared that my mom would come to the school and make me go home with her. But she didn't so I'm gonna go straight to Gus's house right after school.

After School

I quickly grabbed my bag and started to bolt back to Gus's house without any hesitation so no one could stop me. But when I was running into the streets, a car stopped me. It wasn't any car. It was my mom's car. Now I started to freak out and when I tried to go back to his house, she followed me so I decided not to. Just so she doesn't know where he lives for future references. At this point, I was stuck. She was gonna follow me either way.

"Get in the damn car Jaden Lindsay Rose! I swear to god, I'll call the cops if you don't!" She screamed. I tried to run but she got out of the car. "If you make me get you in the car, I'll take away everything you own and make you sleep in the god damn closet!"

"Fine!" I got into the car.

"What has gotten into you? The foster system let you leave for a day just to give you a dose of reality and yet you still wanna leave? Wow. That's horrible. It's that damn boy. I've tried to make you happy. Ever since I met you and I heard your back story, that was all I wanted for you. I knew that was all you wanted too. But whenever I tried, things like this would happen. I'd try to give you freedom but you ruin it for yourself. Oh but it's not over, you try and blame me for what you have done. That's adorable but it won't work." She lectured me the whole car way over.

"That isn't true! I'm living life to the fullest. Ok, so I happen to fall asleep once. And that's horrible? By the way, there is nothing wrong with Gus. He's my only friend. My only true friend." I argued.

"It's not just the falling asleep. It's the smoking weed, juuling, pills. Just so much drugs that you do. And you're right, it isn't Gus's fault. There isn't anything wrong with him. Actually, it's your fault. You wanna know why? Because even if he just offered, you could be said no. You have a voice! Use it!" She screamed.

"I hate you!" I screamed. "I hate you! I never wanted to be that one kid who always says 'I hate you' to your mom but I do. You say you wanna make my life better but if anything you're making it worse. We live in Arizona and finally, I'm adjusting to this school. Then you just randomly say, we're moving to Long Island New York which is ghetto. But we're not done, oh no. When I try to do weed or have a private talk, you have to always eavesdrop! It's not like I was gonna do anything bad!"

"Hickeys. He gave you hickeys." She nodded her head.

"Sorry that I'm not the not sinning, always have my bible in hand, virgin daughter you wanted! Might as well let Gus's mom adopt me! She was more welcoming then you ever were! Right away she was starting conversation. You didn't even acknowledge me when I first came. But whenever I'm with Gus, I feel loved. I feel like I mattered. I hate my fucking life!" I yelled.
