Chapter 2: Mr. Crybaby

Jaden's POV

I walked into school, wiping the tears away as fast as possible. It was an intense fight. She was for sure gonna call the foster system. Not to have them take me away, but whenever I act out, they like to talk to me about it. Kinda like a therapy session but only when I act out. School sucked too because I have no friends and whenever I try to make some, I get weird looks. The, 'why are you talking to me' look. When I got there, I went into the cafeteria to get breakfast. All my foster siblings are younger than me except for one who is a Freshman in college. I sat down all alone and saw this one guy. He caught my attention because of his face tattoos. They looked cool. He sat all alone with his hood on and his ear buds in. Well, if I'm gonna be here for two more years then I'm gonna make friends.

"Hello." I sat down next to him.

"Hey." He didn't even look at me.

"Too cool for me, Mr. Crybaby?" I asked referring to his crybaby tattoo.

"Cool?"

"Whatever. Why you so lonely? I always see you in my PE class and math class all alone. It's sad." I chuckled.

"Hm."

"Someone isn't talkative." I sighed. "What does your tattoos mean?"

"Stuff."

"Cheer up bro. You're so quiet and I'm lonely so I'm gonna make friends." I smirked and took his hood off to reveal his pink and black hair.

"Hey!" He raised his voice causing some people to look at us. "Fine. I'll talk to you. But then you have to promise to leave me alone."

"I promise." I put my pinky out to do a pinky promise.

"You're such a kid." He scoffed at my ridiculousness. "So this Crybaby tattoo is to remind me to be greatful of what I have. This heart break one, I actually got it last month, it's basically just symbolizing my feelings. I got a lucky charm for good luck."

"Really? They're so cool. Did your mom let you?" I asked.

"Well, my first tattoo, I got when I was fourteen. I decided to get my mom's birthday and her initials so she wouldn't get mad." He chuckled.

"Ok well I promised. So I'll see you in PE. But I won't talk to you." I said.

First Period
8:27 AM

My first period was history. And I was dying on the inside! But on the outside, I paid attention and answered each question correctly. People called me a show off and shit but I can't stop what they think about me. It just sucks not having any friends because of this reason. No one likes me because they think I get special treatment. Even though I had a 4.5 GPA and straight A+ in my old school. If they had that, they would go up too. Maybe they shouldn't be so busy gossiping and they'd actually be smart.

"So the Japanese emperor was overthrown by-" The phone rang, cutting him off. "Hello? Yes, I do have her. Send her up? Does she need to take her stuff or... Ok. Yes of course. I'll send her right up. Ok, bye. Jaden Rose, you need to go to the office."

Office

"You needed me?" I walked in.

"Yes, Ms. Rose. Have a seat." The principle smiled. "So we were looking at your grades and we realized you could go up to be a Senior if you'd like to and graduate in a couple months then go straight to college. But we just need an ok from you."

"I-" I thought about it for a minute. "The thing is, that I would love too. But I also already made a friend."

"Oh. That's fine. It's all up to you. But if you ever want to move up, then just come up and tell me. But let me know by February because we can't have you join in May then already graduate. Also, you wouldn't mind if I asked your friend?" He asked.

"Well I never caught his name. But he had face tattoos." I shrugged.

"Jade, I know it isn't none of my business but he's been suspended and held back several times." He sighed.

"Yea, you're right. It isn't none of your business. So I'd like to go back to class and continue my education if it's alright with you." I stood up.

"Yes, yes, go ahead. But just know, he isn't right." He told me. Something in me wanted to snap but I prevented it.
