(Prince Daniel x Prince Loki)
(Word Count: 1654)
Loki's POV
Was it necessary for us Princes to court women from other realms? Mother was always saying how a King was a stronger ruler with his Queen beside him. But I simply wasn't interested in any of the women. They were... bland, to say the least. Not to mention how clingy and aggravating they were. They were only interested in the throne anyway. Why should I care for them? We were expecting another royal to arrive today. I sighed as I groaned quietly.
A knock then came from my door. "Brother, they are here! Hurry!"
They? I was under the impression only one would show up today. Oh well... twice the trouble.
I put my helmet on as I followed Thor to the throne room. With how occupied my mind was, it didn't take very long to arrive.
"My sons," Odin immediately introduced upon our entry, "Princes Thor and Loki Odinson."
I stopped immediately at seeing who stood in the throne room. There stood a beautiful maiden with purely golden hair and bright eyes, no doubt the woman we were to court.
But my attention never even landed on her. Behind her was a slightly taller boy. His snow-white hair almost glimmered in the light like the small shimmering halo of jewels that sat atop his head. His light outfit made him look like a truly immortal being. My breath hitched as his blue eyes met mine.
We stared at each other for a long moment before he finally bowed and spoke, "My Princes, I'm here to visit with my sister as she is trialed for courting the both of you. It's a pleasure to meet you." His eyes lingered on me as he straightened up and faced us.
"Your name, my Lady?" Thor asked with his charming smile. Yes, Thor would hit this off immediately.
"Princess Saga, Prince Thor."
I sighed lightly in relief. I suppose that Thor would be taking his turn first with the young Lady. Before Saga left with Thor, however, she whispered something into her brother's ear. The boy sighed with a frown and replied with a quiet, "Yes, sister. As you say." Saga then smiled and was off with Thor to spend the day.
With one last glance at the boy who was watching his sister, I turned and began to walk back to my room. The halls were quiet until I heard the curious noise of running footsteps. I paused and glanced behind me. "Prince Loki," It was the boy from the throne room. I never did catch his name... but he continued speaking, "S- Sorry. My sister was curious if I could get to know you." He seemed rather nervous in his request. But I could tell he wasn't fully being truthful with me. "In order for things to go smoothly and swiftly for all of us she likes me to speak with suitors in some cases. I- I hope you don't mind."
He looked oddly cute when his cheeks were red and he was flustered. "It would be no problem. Why not a walk in the garden, Prince..."
My pause at his name made him get even more flustered as he frantically stated, "Oh gosh! I forgot to introduce myself! I'm such a mess... Prince Daniel Bennett!" He bowed to me once again as he shut his eyes in embarrassment. He was certainly polite for royalty, not that I minded.
I smiled at him. Indeed he was a bit of a mess. But regardless... I turned away slightly. "So you say your sister has you do this often?" Daniel stood straight as he followed me down the hall. He was about to respond when I quickly informed, "It might do you well to know I'm the God of lies. Just for future reference, of course."
