That morning at breakfast, I thought of how I would bring up going back down to the spot where I took that picture of the disappearing man.

"So Katie, I have to go run some errands today, would you like to come with me. It's around where you were taking those pictures yesterday. Thought you could have a look around a little bit more if that is alright with you. Uncle Todd has to work today."

That was easy. "Sure I would love to. I think there is more for me to photograph." I said.

"Great. We'll leave in a couple hours." Aunt Emily said.

"Okay, I'll get ready now!" I was thrilled my plan was working. I didn't have to come up with a lie. I am terrible at lying. So I would possibly get caught. I ran over to my suitcase and put on my favorite pair of jeans with a black tanktop, with a grey off shoulder shirt to go over. To complete my outfit, I grabbed my black boots, black leather jacket, maroon scarf, bag, and my sunglasses. Of course I was so excited that I still had time to think of how I was going to execute my plan. What was I going to do? When I finally did discover the secret of that spot, will it just be all over? Would it be all for nothing? No. I still want to go. Instead, I started reading my Hamlet. I was about halfway done with it. Luckily, if I had finished with it, I had Jurassic Park, A Night to Remember, and The Crucible. Such random books. But I like a good mystery, thriller, and something historic. I wonder why sometimes I don't just become a historian. I love history. But it is just a hobby I like.

By the time I realized it, it was time to go. On our way out to the car, I went to the right side of the car, thinking it was the passenger's side, I was still thinking in American ways. Luckily I didn't have to drive anywhere. That would really screw me up. We got to the mall twenty minutes after we left the flat. I couldn't contain myself. I was eager to just get out there.

"Here's some money for you, if you see something you like." Aunt Emily said.

"Thank you Aunt Emily. Where is the big waterfall that I was taking pictures of yesterday?"

"Oh it's just a few blocks down the street. Once you see the big, odd, bronze building. You know you're there. Good luck sweetie!"

"Thanks again Aunt Emily. Do you want me to call you when I am all finished?"

"Sure. Just call me when you want me to pick you up."

"I will, thanks." I said as I started walking off, almost in a run. I slowed myself down to a brisk walk. I wanted to take in the scenery. It was only a few blocks, but at how slow I was going, it seemed like a mile.

I was here. The big bronze building, the big waterfall. Everything was exactly how I saw it yesterday. No man in 40s trenchcoat today. I took my camera out to see where it was that the man was standing on. I walked to it. I couldn't figure it out for sure. It was a little difficult to tell from my camera. But I headed over there anyway. It looked like he was ten feet away from the waterfall. But that would be the end of the sidewalk. It didn't make sense. I looked around for anything suspicous or weird. I stood there for a good 30 seconds before I started going down.

"What's going on?!" I yelled. But no one heard me. It was if I was invisable, and mute, I was too far down to get myself back onto the street. The square I was standing on led me down about fifty feet. I saw the most remarkable underground hideout in my life. It was full of computers that looks like they shouldn't exist yet. High-tech machines that no ordinary 21st century person has seen yet.

"Is that a pterodactyl?" I accidentally said outloud.

"Yes that is." A man replied back.

I stood on the platform frozen. I was in shock.

"Here, Let me help you down off of there."

"Thanks." I said.

"I'm Captain Jack Harkness. And who might you be?"

"I'm Katie. Katie Marshall." I said.

"Nice to meet you Katie. And welcome to Torchwood. This is my team, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones, Owen Harper, and Toshiko Sato." They were all staring at me. But I was staring at Captain Jack Harkness. He was like a dream. He was tall, he had a nice face. At first, I thought he was Tom Cruise in Top Gun, but this Captain Jack is just as good looking. But he did seem a little out of place. I found out he was the one wearing the 40s trench coat.
