This morning I got up early. I decided that I wanted to go on a nice long run. I put on my running clothes, and started walking out the door when Jack noticed me.
"You are up early. Where are you going?" He asked.
"On a run."
"Where?" He asked.
"I don't know. I'll be within a two mile radius of Torchwood." I said.
"I don't know if that's a good idea. It is supposed to rain in a little bit." Ianto said.
"A little rain never killed anyone did it?" I asked.
"No. But just keep that in mind, and stay safe!" Captain Jack Harkness said as I went outside to run.
I loved feeling the wind in my face as I ran. I wanted to take it all in. After about ten minutes of running, it started to rain like Ianto said it would. I didn't think much of it. It was just misting. It felt like I was running through a sprinkler. I kept running not caring about how wet I was.
Half an hour later, still running. But the rain got stronger. It was now 8:15, I decided that it was time to start heading back to Torchwood, when it started hailing. It was not like any hail I have ever experienced before in my life. It was big. About the size of a golf ball heading down to earth. I tried looking for somewhere safe so that I wouldn't get hit. But I saw the secret entrance to Torchwood. It was about half a mile away. I darted for it. I ran as fast as I could. I got hit a few times. One on the side of my head, a few on my arm. One flew on my foot.
I got to the doors of Torchwood. I struggled opening the door. My arms were bruised more. I finally opened the door to see Ianto at his desk. "Jack! Come quickly!" Ianto yelled.
"Ianto I thought you said it was just rain?" Captain Jack Harkness asked.
"Yeah well, It's hailing. They are the size of golfballs." I said.
"Yikes. You look like you just went through Hell." Captain Jack Harkness said.
"Something like that. Now if you don't mind, I am going to clean up." I said as I walked to my room. I did look like I went through Hell. Just with golfball sized hail bruises. I had to laugh, I looked funny. I dressed casual today. Skinny jeans, boots, a t-shirt, and scarf. I went down to the kitchen and made myself a bowl of cereal, since I hadn't eaten anything yet. Everyone was starting to trickle in to Torchwood by that time.
"Samantha. I have something for you." Captain Jack Harkness said as he walked into the kitchen.
"What is it?" I asked.
He was holding a small box. It looked old. "Open it." He said as He handed it to me. I opened it, it was a pin of a pair of wings, like the ones pilots wear.
"No way! It's so pretty. Thank you Jack." I said. I put it on the left side of my T-shirt. I went to give him a hug.
"You're welcome." He said. "Hurry up we have work to do."
"Aye Aye Captain!" I said. I quickly finished my bowl of cereal and went to where everyone was working. It was a slow morning. We didn't have very much to do. We had to just sit and wait for a phone call. But it wasn't a phone call we got, It was that mysterious sound that the TARDIS made.
"He's here!" Captain Jack Harkness screamed. He was quite giddy to see someone who flew around in a blue box.
"Jack!" A man said as he stepped out of the box. He had long-ish hair, a brown jacket, suit like pants, a button up shirt, and a bow tie. This wasn't the same Doctor as last time.
"Who are you?" Captain Jack Harkness asked the man.
"Jack. It's me, The Doctor. I regenerated." He said.
