"How was your night out Katie?" Uncle Todd asked.

"It was wonderful. Sorry about earlier, I didn't hear it."

"That's alright." Aunt Emily. said. "Now let's dig in and eat. Tonight is one our favorite shows."

"Tastes good." I said. Dinner lasted about fourtyfive minutes, that inlcuded quickly doing the dishes and cleaning up so that we could watch the television. I don't know what's on, hopefully it will be good. It must be special because Uncle Todd and Aunt Emily brought out the good wine, and made popcorn for the special occasion. It's as if the Queen of England is going to be appearing on TV or something.

"Come on! It's about to start!" Uncle Todd screamed.

"I'll be right there. I just have to brush my teeth quickly." I said.

"Alright, but just hurry, the beginning is the best part." Aunt Emily said.

I quickly brushed my teeth. Trying not to miss any spots. I was probably in the bathroom for about two and a half minutes, when I steped outside to see my Aunt and Uncle staring at the TV like they were zombies or something. I quickly glanced at the screen, but quickly turned my head because it caused a terrible headache just looking at it for a mere second. What was going on here? What do I do? I could call Torchwood, but... Oh crap! I forgot to get there numbers. Gwen said she would pick me up tomorrow. I'll have to wait until then.

"I'm going to shut the TV off now you guys."

"You must not turn it off. It is our source of power. It is how we stay alive. If you turn it off, we die." My Aunt and Uncle said in sync.

"No!" I screamed, and started crying. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to wait. I ran over next door to try to get help.

"HELP SOMEBODY! I NEED HELP!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I peered into the window and saw the same thing, the couple was staring at the TV in the same way my Aunt and Uncle were. I had to call the police so that they could contact Torchwood. But how do I get a hold of the police.

"Hey you! I need you to call the police. Please, I need to talk to them." I begged a man that was walking down the street with his dog.

"Yeah sure. Here I'll dial for you."

"Thank you." I said with a sigh of relief.

"Hello? I need you to put me in contact with Torchwood, this is urgent!"

"Calm down miss, do you know your location?"

"No, I just know I'm in Cardiff. Sir where are we?" I turned around to ask the man, and he was gone along with his dog.

"We are putting GPS locator on this phone. And we will contact Torchwood immediately."

"Thank you!" I was terrified.

What if the police think I am just joking? What if they don't actually relay the message back to Torchwood? What if I just have to wait here, all night by myself? I headed back to Uncle Todd and Aunt Emily's flat. I sat on the semi wet staircase that led to the door. I probably sat there for ten minutes before I heard the sound of a fast moving car headed my way.

It was black, and had tinted windows. I couldn't see who was inside, so I started to get up to go inside when I heard Jack's voice.

"What's the problem. I just got a call from the police station saying that there was a girl on the phone who sounded like she was distressed."

"That would be me."

"What's the problem?" Captain Jack Harkness asked.

"Come inside and look for yourself." We walked throuh the door to my Aunt and Uncle's flat and saw them, the same way as I did before. Zombie like.

"What came on the television?" He asked.

"I don't know. They both were anxious to see some specical show on the TV. I was just brushing my teeth in the bathroom. I came into the room, and here they were." I said.

"Interesting." Jack said. "Bizzare."

"Can you figure out what happend?" I asked.

"No. But I think I do know someone who could help. But I don't know when he will come."

"What do you mean, you don't know when he'll come?"

"He pops in and out, from time to time. You never know when he'll show up." He said.

"Who is he?"

"It's complicated. I'll try calling him on his phone. Right now you better come with me. Pack your bags. We will come back in the morning to try to figure out what is going on with your Uncle and Aunt." He said.

"Thank you for coming down here. Let me go grab my things." I came back down with my jumbo suitcase that I could very possibly squeeze myself into if I wanted. My backpack that was full of my carry on items. I brought a couple of bags to carry other things in, which I quickly put stuff into. In total I think I brought as much stuff as I weigh.

"Do you need help with any of that?" Captain Jack Harkness asked, as he was locking the door with they key I found on the table by the front door.

"No, I got it." As I trip going down the stairs.

"Let me take some of your things Katie." He said.

"Fine." I said as I felt a massive sharp shooting pain through my leg.

"Are you alright?" Captain Jack Harkness asked.

"I fell on my knee." I said.

"Here. Let me take you to the car." He said as he picked me up and put me in the car.

"I'll have Owen check your leg out when we get there." Captain Jack Harkness said.

"I'll be fine." I said. "Who is the man you were talking about what is his name?"

"His name is The Doctor."

"I told you I don't need a doctor." I said.

"That's just his name. The Doctor. He's a time lord. I think he said he is from the planet Gallifrey." He said.

"Is he an alien?"

"Yes." He said. "Just relax, we are almost there."

"Ianto, is Owen still there?" Jack said on his earpeice that looked like a bluetooth device.

"Damn! Well get him on the phone, and tell him to come back."

"Yeah later."

"What? What is it?" I asked eagarly.

"Nothing." He said as he parked the car in a parking lot next to the Torchwood enterance. I saw Ianto outside the door and heading towards the car. He opened the door, and took out my bags.

"What do I do with these Jack?" Ianto asked.

"Put them in my office." Captain Jack Harkness said, just as Owen pulled into the parking lot and came out of towards the car.

"What is it Jack?" Owen asked.

"Come help us out." Jack said as I started getting out of the car. I started to walk over to the door, but with a slight pain in my knee. "She fell trying to carry her own weight down a flight of stairs. I just need you to check her out. She needs to do all the required tests anyway. So just do them right now. Please?"

"Alright. Fine. But you owe me." Owen said. "Wait. Why is she staying with us. I thought she was staying with her family?"

"Yeah. They turned into TV watching Zombies." I overheard Captain Jack Harkness say.

"Ha! Ha! Very funny!" I said sarcastically. We all chuckled.
