December 17th
Daegu, South Korea.
"How long before I can walk, Sooah?" Naeun played with her IV cord, her eyes focused on the tube as she let herself wonder off into her thoughts. Sooah smiled, moving Naeun's hair away from her face as she made sure her pulse was good and strong. "Well you're getting stronger everyday, now you just need to wait for everything to heal but we can do some walking exercises?" She suggest, seeing the little one's eyes light up as soon as the woman mentioned walking.
Naeun loved being pampered and showered with love by everyone, the sudden spur of attention towards her making her feel special. But he girl desired to get on her own two fight and run into her parents arms like she used to. She never really ran, since her parents never let her, saying she would get too out of breath, but now she really knew why they didn't let her. They were just worried. Sooah left the room, setting herself out to find the rehabilitation equipment when Naeun saw a little boy standing outside of her room.
She blinked a few times, waving her small arm at him which gave the little boy enough confidence to enter your room. "You're alone?" He asked, looking around the room with a curious gaze. "Usually there are loads of people in this room, I've seen them." The boy sat himself on the edge of Naeun's bed, staring at nowhere in particular.
"My parents are resting and the people taking care of me will be back in a while." She answered, her gaze lingering on the curious boy. His face was a perfect picture of misery, with the medium gash on his head covered by a bad aid. "You're lucky." I sighed, his posture slumping. Naeun raised her brows, waiting for the boy to elaborate. She had no idea what the lost boy was going on about.
"You have people visiting you, giving you gifts and taking you home when you get better. I don't have that." A tear slipped out of his eye, his teeth chewing at his bottom lip. Naeun wanted to hug him, but ever since the operation she went under her breastbone was still healing, so she couldn't move her body. "I can ask my uncle if we can share this room. Then you'll have guests too!"
The excitement was evident, as Naeun got her hopes up for making a friend. She never had any friends, since she couldn't even go to a normal school. Her parents had paid a fortune for people to teach her at home, and that was all she knew about school. The boy turned to her with hope in his eyes, as his voice got a tone higher.
"Really?! What's your name?" He asked, stretching his hand out towards her. Seeing her struggle, he simply placed his hand into hers and gave it a small shake knowing she must be really sick. "Park Naeun." She smiled, a weird feeling filling her stomach. the feeling of utmost happiness. "Seo Changbin." And that was enough for the two to start a new friendship, not thinking that they became eachother's anchor.
A/N: This chapter might be pointless, but I wanted Naeun to finally have someone. Also I will be finishing the book today so by tonight chapter 20 along with a few bonuses will be up for you guys. Chapter 19 and 20 will be Christmas :)
