Chapter Eighteen

December 22nd

Daegu, South Korea

Taehyung had never been so confused in his life. Today was the last day of Christmas shopping, and now it was his turn to buy gifts. Sooah agreed to spending Christmas with Jimin's family and Seokjin and a few extra guests, meaning Taehyung had a lot of gifts to buy. He had succeeded in getting gifts for everyone, except Sooah. They spent time with eachother, and in between shift and after work they had gotten to know eachother quite a bit.

He had looked around fancy clothes shops, no. Perfume shops, no. Shoe shops, no.

Finally giving up, he saw a jewelry shop, and the first thing that came to his mind was their trip to Hawaii and the necklace he had gotten her. It was only a little gift from a souvenir shop, so he decided to get her something bigger. Taehyung entered the shop, smiled at the lady and began his search for something perfect. He looked at the earrings but none of them seemed to catch his attention. But then his eyes stopped on a set, a necklace and a bracelet.

They were both golden plated, with a single pearl as a decoration. It was classy and neat but also something which seemed to remind him of Sooah. He had asked the lady to wrap it up for him and left the store satisfied. Naeun would not stop going on about the little boy named Changbin, who turned out to be an orphan at the nearest orphanage. So as an extra Christmas gift for her, he decided to call up the orphanage and arrange a way for him to spend the holidays with them.

He wanted to take care of the boy, seeing how broken he was and how quickly Naeun had taken a liking towards him. So he did everything he could to have the boy over to keep Naeun company. She still had a long time until she would be able to fully walk, so she would have to spend the holiday's in wheelchair but Sooah and Seokjin helped Taehyung make sure she would be able to go home and spend the time away from the hospital.

Finally returning home, Taehyung witnessed a bunch of happy faces moving around in his apartment. Jimin was entertaining Naeun and Changbin, reading a story to them and making funny faces, whilst Sera and Sooah were busy cooking in the kitchen. "Uncle Taehyung!" Naeun shouted in between giggled, which made the said man freeze up as he hid his bags behind his back.

"No peeking." He narrowed his eyes, pointing to the two kids who have been doing nothing but snooping around for the presents. The two laughed, returning their attention back to Jimin who carried on with the story. But before he went to wrap the gifts up in his room, he looked into the kitchen to see Sera and Sooah giggling about something, Sera shushing the latter when she saw Taehyung enter.

"What you two talking about?" He pried, dipping his index finger in some mixture before tasting it, making a satisfied face at the taste. "Yah! Keep your dirty hands away from the food." The wooden spoon cam in contact with his head, making him groan and rub his head to ease the pain. Sooah peered behind her shoulder, giving him an eye smile before returning to cooking. Taehyung smiled like an idiot before rushing to his room to wrap up all the presents.
