The Vampire's Slave

Thirteen

When I got back to my room, I saw someone I wasn't expecting.

" Adrain?" I say surprised he was here. I took every inch of him in. His gorgeous stormy blue eyes, messy brown hair and his tall, muscular build. He looked just as good as I remember wearing jeans and a white t-shirt that clung to him like a second skin.

He smirks. " Miss me, love."

Suddenly, a wave of anger hits me. The last time I saw him he left me. I know he didn't have a choice since it was part of the plan. Still, I can't help but feel betrayed.

" You left me," I say with venom in my voice.

" It was part of the plan."

" You could have at least inform me that you were going to leave me with them."

I felt my anger rising with every second. I couldn't control it.

" As I said, Violet. It was part of the...," he didn't get to finish.

I pounced on him, forcing him to the ground. I straddled his waist as I pinned his arms above his head. I thought about all the terrible things I could do to him but he ruined my revenge.

The bastard had his nerve to smirk.
" As much as I like this position, I rather it is you underneath me."

" In your dreams," I growled.

Suddenly, I was no longer in control. In a blur, he spun me around and pinned me underneath him.

" What were you saying? Something about in my dreams," he smirks down at me.

I rolled my eyes. 

I tried to get out of his embrace. But there was no use. Even with my half vampire strength, he still overpowered me.

So I was left there, with my arms above my head and his body pressed against me.

" You can't hold me for long," I lied.

" We both know I can."

As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. Stupid vampires.

Adrian leans into me more, pressing his chest closer to mine. His eyes slowly look down at my lips.

The next words he said was unexpected and made my body shiver.

" I could kiss you right now," he says in a low, husky voice. I must have lost my mind in that moment because I said something I shouldn't.

" Then why don't you," I challenged.

"Because we both know if I did I wouldn't stop."

My lips barely touched his, my eyes daring him. " Maybe I don't want you too."

He stared down at my lips a moment longer. I thought he was going to kiss me. All of sudden, he backs away and moves to the furthest corner in the room away from me.

I swallowed.

I can't believe I almost let that happen. I would never kiss an evil creature like him. He must have put my mind under his spell but I know that couldn't be. I was immune to vampires tricks.

I stand up.

" Why are you here?" I questioned, trying to regain my composure and forget my small moment of weakness.

" To give you this," he replies, not looking at me. He pulls a phone out his pocket and hands it to me.

I take it.

" What's this for?"

" When the time comes, I'll call."

I nod my head, knowing exactly what that meant. I glance down at the simple cellphone. I've used these before.

Untraceable phones.

When the time comes, Adrain will call me and give me the orders to kill the vampire king.

I look at him with determination.  " I won't let you down."

He glances at me. " I know you won't."

Adrain runs a rough hand through his hair. His shirt slowly raises, revealing abs. Before my mind could wonder, he walks over to the window.

" Can I ask you a question?" I asked, stopping him from jumping out.

He turns his head around. " Ask away."

" Why are you helping my organization against your own leader?"

Adrian looks away and back at the starless night sky. " Because it's the right thing to do."

I think about what he said as he jumps out the window, disappearing into the night.

I close the window then hide the phone in a safe place. I walk into the bathroom, shower, and get dressed.

I put on one of the dresses they gave us when I first arrived. The dress was simple like all the others. It was black and covered me from my neck to my knees.

I guess vampires are really big on covering up.

I go out of the bathroom and lay on my bed to wait for the guard. I almost fell asleep when I hear a knock on the door.

I get up and open it. A tall man dressed in a royal blue uniform greets me.

" The King has requested your presence." His voice was rough.

He looks down at my dress. " Change," he says throwing a piece of clothing at me.

What's his problem?

I shut the door and changed into what he gave me. I hesitated before walking out, staring at my reflection. I wore a lacy red nightie. The bra part pushed my breasts up and the rest of it was sheer, exposing my belly and thong.

I felt exposed.

Does this man have no respect? Of course, he doesn't.

I pull my hair into a high ponytail and walk out. The guard looks me up and down. He looked satisfied.

If only I could wipe that smug look off his face.

" Move," he says, pushing me.

I do as I'm told and walk. He grabs my upper arm hard, and guide us.

Finally, we stop at two double doors. I could feel Alexander strong presence behind it. My heart rate quicken.

" The king waits for you inside."

With those last words, he disappears, leaving me alone.

I walk inside then stop.

Alexander looked handsome as usual in his black Armani suit.

He sat alone at the end of an extremely long dinner table in a chair fit for a king. He cuts into his bloody steak then stops when he hears me walk in. His icy blue eyes stare daggers at me. I resisted the urge to look away.

" Crawl," he commands.

I remained still. I didn't crawl for anyone. I made vampires crawl.

" Ms. Gilbert I'm a very impatient man," he says. His eyes never leaving me as he brings a glass filled with blood to his lips.

I swallow my pride, remembering why I was here. I do as he commands. Hating every moment of it.

When I finally reached him, he placed a finger under my chin lifting it up. I stared into his magnetic eyes.

" Good girl."
