- I still can't believe you promised we would go over during Christmas! – I exclaimed, waiting patiently for my bag to emerge among the other ones on the baggage claim.

- Why not? They seemed so happy about it – inquired Aiden, already grabbing his bag.

He was wearing a hood over his head, along with dark sunglasses even though we were indoors at the airport. We were hoping no one would recognize him.

- I mean, you have no idea what your schedule will be. You may not have the time to travel to Canada for Christmas – I pointed out.

- If that happens, we'll just invite them over instead – he shrugged.

I sighted and moved so I could grab my brag.

- I would say they won't go to that trouble, but since they seemed to like you so much, I'm not sure anymore – I stated.

- Well, I am very likable – he smiled in my direction as he took my hand and we moved outside. We waited our turn to call a cabbie while we talked.

- Incredibly so – I agreed. – Honestly, I don't think my family would have taken it so well if it was anybody else.

I smiled back up at him, this sense of relief washing over me again. I was so worried about telling the truth to my family. Never having introduced a boyfriend to them before, I assumed they would be mortified that my first one was an international idol, currently having the biggest success in his career. To add fuel to the fire, I would have to move to England for good, after having the worst summer in my life and stating that I would move back home just a few days ago. If Aiden hadn't been with me, I was not sure I could have done it. But we did. And after the initial shock and disbelief, they actually turned around. They wished me nothing but the best for our future.

Aiden was a sweetheart to them. He was incredibly respectful and comprehensive of their initial discomfort with the idea. Even being nervous himself, as I could tell, he was completely honest with them and assured them that he would do everything he could to make me happy. And so he went from enemy to a member of the family before I could even blink.

- I do have a question I meant to ask you before, though – he said, a bit of uneasiness in his voice.

I frowned, worried.

- What?

- Does... your dad actually own a shotgun?

My response was to simply laugh, unable to contain myself. I did find it odd that neither he nor my dad said what their conversation alone in our backyard had been about.

- No, he doesn't – I calmed him, as we got into a taxi as he gave our address to the driver. – He does, however, know people who can probably sell him one.

- Ain't that reassuring – Aiden murmured.

Giggling for just a bit longer, I leaned back in the car seat and sighted.

- So... what now? – I asked, looking at the car's sealing.

- What do you mean? – he worried, grabbing my hand between his.

- I mean... what should we do now? I'm okay with everyone knowing we're together. Although I am a bit afraid of the consequences, I won't lie. But I'm prepared for them. So... what do we do now? Do we just carry on with our life, until some reporter or whatever finds out about us? Do we just come out and say it to everyone? I'm not sure what to do in this situation.

At the lack of an answer, I deviated my attention to him, noticing how pensive he seemed, looking distractedly at my face. He blinked and a smile resumed on his face, as his hand came up to touch my left cheek in a soothing matter.
