Looking out the window, the raindrops blurred my vision of the streets of London. The city seemed darker than usual, probably due to the dark grey clouds covering the sky as far as the eye could see. All I could hear was the heavy drops of rain, and I wondered if there would be thunder later into the night.

- Why the gloomy face? – a familiar voice asked.

I turned around and smiled. Mindy was carrying two coffee cups in her hands, handing me one of them. It was still very warm, which my freezing hands appreciated.

- Thank you – I said. – What makes you think I'm gloomy?

She rolled her eyes.

- Besides the fact that you have barely talked all day and I keep hearing you sight when you think we are not paying attention, you were just looking at the rain with a sad look on your face! So, what's up?

Deciding not to contradict Mindy, I took a sip of the warm beverage before replaying.

- I'm just feeling a bit down today – I expressed.

- It's about Aiden, isn't it?

I sighted again. There was nothing passing through her. She knew me very well.

- I am not angry at him or anything, truly – I immediately clarified. – I understand that the group is incredibly busy. Their new album just drop a few weeks ago, they have shows to go to and are preparing to go out on tour soon again. I get that.

- I sense a "but" coming soon.

I bit my lips and furrowed my eyebrows, glancing at the floor.

- He told me he would be busy all day, today. And I was disappointed. And now I feel incredibly guilty that I felt disappointed, when I know it's not his fault he has to work.

- What's so special about today? – she asked, taking a sip of her own coffee.

- Well... It's the 21st of February. It's when... we started dating.

Mindy almost choked on her coffee.

- It's your anniversary? – she asked, stunned.

I smiled sadly.

- Yeah. I was planning on making a romantic dinner for us, in candle lights and everything – I blushed. – But he won't be home until quite late at night, apparently.

- Oh, sweetie! – she came to me and hugged me. – The boys have just been so busy lately. With so many thigs to keep in mind, he just must have forgotten to keep track of the days! Don't take it personally, you know how much he loves you.

I nodded and hugged her back before we went back to the practice room.

- I know. Which is why I feel guilty about being sad – I confessed.

- Don't be – she said.

When we entered the room, everyone on the team was already packing up. Since the boys were out on a bunch of shows with Jeff and Nate, the people who finished the work for the day could go home. I started to gather my things as well, putting on my coat and searching for my umbrella.

- Are you done for today too? – I asked Mindy as I saw her grab her things in a hurry.

- Yeah. Good thing too. Jacob just texted me and is already waiting downstairs for me.

I smiled.

- Say hi to him for me!

- I will. See you tomorrow! If you need anything, just call me, okay?
