"You seemed very upset today.." I asked Lydia while I was playing with her hair
She was laid on my half body with her left arm on my chest and her head on my shoulder.
Her long delicate fingers were tracing random shapes on my naked chest.
"It's okay. Everyone could feel like that in my case.." she said
Something inside me was telling me that there was something wrong and Lydia was trying to hide for me.
Little did she know that she could not hide from me. I knew her like the palm of my hand.
Although we were seperated for many years, we still knew each other really well.
"You know that you cannot lie to me, right??" I asked
"I don't lie.." she said softly
She definetly did.
"Why I don't believe you then??" I asked again
"I don't know.." she answered hiding her face on my neck
I sighed.
I stood on my arm and she was now under me.
"Lydia stop lying. I know that something is wrong, it's written on all over your face. Your worries are mine too, you know that.." I said
She avoided hesitantly to look at me. Her eyebrows furrowed together.
"I was very anxious about Dimitri. You know that nowdays everyone can be assumed as a communism without even realise it." She said "Can you imagine my brother in prison and his wife staying alone with three little children??"
"I know. It would be very tragic.." I agreed with her
"I almost died until I learn that he was arrested for forgeting his driving licence at home.." she said "I thought that someone had assumed him for political reasons.."
"I know my love. I can understand you completely, but since you learned that everything is fine why don't you seem relieved??" I asked curiously
She sighed worriedly again.
"Lydia look at me.." I said holding her chin softly, making her to look at me
She looked at me deeply in the eyes, as if she was asking for help.
"You know you can talk to me.." I encouraged her
"I know I can, but it's not something simple. It's something that I'm afraid to talk about, I have never talked to anyone about it.." she said
I looked at him curiously.
"Why?? What is it??" I asked confused
"It's a very serious and significant secret." She said
"You don't trust me??" I asked
"Of course I do. You would understand what I mean if you knew about it.." she said caressing my cheek softly
"Okay.. I won't push you more.." I said placing a kiss on her palm "You know you can talk to me if you want. You know that I'm asking because I'm just worried.."
She seemed thinking about it a little bit. She was biting her bottom lip nervously.
"I know. Just please swear that you will never tell anyone about it. Only me and you will know about it.." she said
"I promise.." I said with a nod
"Well.." she said with a sigh "Do you know how my first husband, Andrew died??"
