I opened the door, grabbed my notebook, and sat on the bed. I opened it to the first page, and stared at the image. I read it over at least about 20 times, before I thought my idea could be a possibility. What if Thomas wrote this message? I would have to ask him. Suddenly, someone came in. I shut the book, and put it on the table. I turned around, and saw Newt.
"I saw you left in a hurry. I was just coming to check if you're okay." He said.
"I'm fine." I said. "I was just.....tired." I lied.
"Well, the bonfire is over. I was also coming to go to sleep." He said. I slid over onto the far side of the bed, and Newt slid in. I laid down, and closed my eyes.
"Goodnight Newt." I said.
"Goodnight Amy." He said. And we both fell asleep. I woke up the next morning, and Newt was still asleep. And to be honest, he's really cute when he sleeps. Did I just think that? Snap out of it Amy! Anyways, I got up, grabbed my notebook, and walked outside. I decided to go to my tree today, since I haven't been there since the Greg incident. Unfortunately though, the path to get to my tree was through the pit. So I might have a 50% chance that I might see Greg. Great, just great! And yes, I was being sarcastic. I walked through the pit, when a voice made me stop in my tracks.
"Hello Amy." Greg's voice said. I looked to my right, and saw him. He wasn't in the cage, his hands were tied, and the rope was tied to a hook in the ground. "Where are you going? To your little tree? You hiding from everyone?" He asked.
"What?" I asked.
"You know. You hide. You hid from me, because you were scared. You were scared then, and you're scared now. Just admit it." He said.
"Admit What?" I asked.
"You're weak. You were too scared to face me then, and even now." He said. Then, something in me just snapped. I punched him in the nose. He fell to the ground, and I kicked him in his side. Suddenly, someone grabbed me, and held me from hurting him. My back to their front.
"Stop Amy! Stop! Just calm down." Newt said. I suddenly calmed down. He slowly released me. Others came over, including Gally and Thomas.
"What's going on?" Thomas asked.
"Nothing! She just attacked me!" Greg complained. Two boys helped him up.
"Don't lie Greg. She punched you, she must have had a reason. I mean, heck, I would have done more than punched you." Gally said.
"Newt, you have to believe me." Greg said.
"Well I don't." Newt said.
"Did you seriously just pick her over me?!" He asked.
"Yes." Newt answered.
"Why? What do you like her or something?" Greg asked as he pointed to me. Newt stayed quiet. Oh my god. Greg started laughing. "Really? Oh wow. This is just....wow. Newt, second in command over the Glade, has feelings for a weakling." He said. Newt likes me?!
"Shut up Greg!" Newt said.
"Why? Why should I? I'm just telling the truth." Greg said. I looked at Newt, and his eyes locked with mine. He looked at Greg.
"Put him in the cage." Newt ordered. The two boys were struggling to put him in the cage.
"Oh, by the way Amy. Your little friend says goodbye." Greg said, and fell into the cage. I was confused. Little friend? Then, I remembered.
"Chestnut." I said, then started running to the tree.
