When I couldn't breathe,
I remember my sister had taught me,
I had one minute,
To restart and re-become me.
She told me if I needed to restart,
Look at the time.
Give yourself a minute,
And restart.
Until you had calmed down.
Until you could breathe.
And if it wasn't working,
And the minute was up,
Give yourself another minute.
Restart again,
Until you feel calm.
Until you could breathe.
And she'd sit with me.
And we'd restart.
Over and over and over again.

She hadn't realized it,
But restarting saved me.
She saved me.
Because I realized that time was infinite.
I had an infinite amount of time,
To save me.

Restart.

Until you can breathe.
A coping method I learned from someone,
Who could never see a life,
Without me.
Who taught me life was not life,
Without me.
