The village is on fire.
The town ablaze.
Smoke is rising to the sky, hiding its blue to a grey.
The plan was to attack at night so the smoke wouldn't be seen to people outside the town but my they got impatient. That's fine.He strolls through the streets, not paying any mind to the screams. There was little resistance which was easily and quickly put down. He looked in windows and alleyways for any hiders. Something brown coats the pavement underfoot. He sighed and continues walking as if it's a clear day. Once he had concluded there is no one left in the city he pulls out a small handheld radio.
"Clear. No trade users encountered. Raid concluded. Meet at designated spot."
His voice was deep and assertive as he spoke. He turned and walked back to the gate entrance the citizens thought would keep them safe. Once at the spot outside the entrance where everyone was told to converge and assemble he waited. One by one his generals gathered. It was only the four of them. All it took was four to annihilate an entire town. Columborough was gone. Wiped clean off the map. The towns small surplus of food and cache of military grade weapons pillaged and devastated. Everything was gone.
"Should we begin head back to the empire, sir?"
"Yes. Did you get everything?" "Yes, sir, we did, sir." "Good." He looked off in the distance. He stared down the burnt village.
"How pitiful." He muttered to himself.
"What was that, sir?" A female general asked. "We're expanding. That's good. We have control over several trade routes and have overthrown many kingdoms. Our empire is expanding; our influence spreading. Soon our empire will be all." He replied.
She nodded. "Yessir, we are sir."
He clicked his tongue.
"Don't call me 'sir'. I'm not any older than you."
"Yes," she spoke,"Lotor."
