"When I teach you how to control your powers you won't hurt things anymore; once you get control of your temperature."
Keith sniffled, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand as he looked up at Lance.
"Really?"
"Mhm."Silence caught the space between them again as they sat. Darkness rolled in with each minute that passed. Shadows etching new shapes into trees. Before them the sun was still evening out with night; the sky showing colors of orange and pink which faded into purple which became a blue as the minutes passed. The quiet was a comfortable one; warm and content. Warm like walking outside on an early April morning and feeling the first warm airs touch your skin. That was the feeling that was covered in— almost as if he had laid down in his bed and covered up with the April airs as his blanket. A thought passed through his mind dissipating his warm April airs: Does Keith have a bed? Lance wasn't sure why he hadn't thought about it before. Does he sleep in that meadow where he had been found?Does he have a warm place to sleep when it rains or snows? The warm airs were gone, replaced with ice cold ones which gave Lance chills. "Lance," "Hm?" "It's dark. Do you need to leave?" Keith asked, tears had ceased and been compensated for with a tired look.
Lance looked up. He jumped and realized he was going to be scolded. "Uh, yeah!" He hopped to his feet, Keith following in pursuit except a bit slower. "Ah...I'm gonna get going..." The water elemental trailed off wondering if Keith was going to say anything. Completely forgetting about his thoughts before.
"See you tomorrow, Lance? Right?" Keith spoke. "Yea." Lance nodded. Keith stood up and began walking. Lance watched him walk away, standing for awhile.
The presence of being alone falling upon him. It was nearing October and the cold winds were beginning to blow in, even though the weather outside was still warm.Lance began his trail home.
