Val’s POV

The man of the house was a tradition for generations. Can you be a master of an estate when you died years before. Even as a ghost Nicolai ruled over the house of Eastwick. He would order everyone to bow before him he was a very bossy young man. He seemed to think he was king of the world but he was just a silly commoner. One day a young girl entered his house and he was sure he could scare her away like all the others. As she walked up the stairs he came down upon her. “Little girl”, he whispered in her ear, “I’m here”. Her answer surprised him though because he didn’t expect her to do anything but scream and run.

“I know young lord”, she said casually.

“Why are you here?” he asked in a whispery voice.

“I’m here to evict you”, she said calmly, “this premise is legally mine”.

“Who do you think you are?” he asked angrily.

“Your evictor you haven’t paid the bills in years”, she said dusting off the banister, “your servants are running low on money”.

“I’m dead of course I’m not paying the bills”, the young master said annoyed.

“Well who pays the bills then”, she questioned.

“Stop asking so many questions”, he ordered.

“Well I’m moving in is it okay if I take the master it’ll hopefully be clean”, she said continuing up the stairs.

“Don’t make me do something extreme”, the master snapped.

“This is my house go away Casper”, she said waving him off.

“I’m not Casper I’m lord of the mansion”, he said pissed off.

“You’re William Harris but your time is over”, she said going into the master bedroom.

“How do you know who I am?” he demanded.

“I’m your sister’s daughter’s cousin’s eldest daughter”, she said lying on the bed.

“So you’re other sister’s grandchild”, the master said puzzled.

“Yes now be kind and shoo”, the girl said yawning.

“What is your name girl?” William demanded.

“Erica”, she said crawling into the water.

“Well Erica you’re a woman you can’t own a house”, he said sternly.

Welcome to the twenty first century”, she said then slammed the door on him. The moral of the story is not to underestimate girls and you can still haunt people if you’re evil and bossy. The End.

Everyone clapped and I smiled to myself. “Well everyone I hope you all enjoyed this”, I said smiling at all the kids that listened to my story.

“I think the girl should have banished him”, Chrissy said proudly.

“I think the ghost should have called the police”, Micky said rolling his eyes.

“How he can’t pick up a phone?” Whitney reminded him and warn broke out.

“Would you all like to hear the story of the kids in the haunted house next where the storyteller gets them grounded”, I suggested.

“No fair”, Jake complained and the mothers laughed in the background. They all headed out and I went back to the literature section and started reading T.S. Elliot.
