Violet's POV

I felt something soft against my forehead. I opened my eyes to see Andy, fully dressed in his intimidating black clothing standing over me.

"Good morning Sweetheart." He said as he sat on the bed beside me. I pulled the comforter up to keep my bare chest covered.

"Good morning. Are you going somewhere?" I asked and he nodded and rubbed the side of my face.

"Yes, I have to go with some guys to do an exchange with the Cobras." He said. I felt my stomach tighten at the thought of him meeting up with the terrible rival gang that was still out to kill Rose and me.

"You're still doing deals with them? After everything they've done?" I asked getting slightly angry. He frowned.

"Vi, it's not my choice. We have agreements with The Cobras that we need to keep or things between us will get even worse. Jackson is our new leader and he says we have to go do this deal, so we have to go." He said. I shook my head. I knew Jackson and I weren't exactly friends, but that's not the reason he made me nervous. He just showed up and started dictating everyone. It didn't seem right.

"Why does he get to call all the shots? You've been in this gang longer than he has, why aren't you the one taking Todd's place?" I asked.

"Now you want me to be a Spade? A few days ago you wanted me to drop out and buy a country house with you." He mocked with a sinister smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes and glared at him.

"I just think it's kind of weird that this man, who has been MIA for years shows up and gets to boss all of you around. And, the fact that you all blindly follow all his orders...I think you should be the leader, that's all." I said and he sighed.

"It's not that simple. Jackson was a part of this gang before he went away and he always will be. He's Todd's son. That carries value with the Spades. I know it's weird, and you probably don't understand but it's just the way things are." He explained and I frowned and nodded.

"I know Jackson doesn't like me because I shot him and whatever-"

"Now who's casual with shooting people?" Andy teased me and laughed at his own joke while I rolled my eyes. I felt him grab my face and passionately kissed me, reassuring me that my thoughts were probably misplaced.

"He will warm up to you. These things take time. Look how long it took you to like me!" He joked and I smiled and kissed him again.

"Hm, that's just because you're very hard to like." I joked and he smirked. "But you're right. When will you be back?" I asked. He checked his phone and scrolled through some messages.

"Probably around dinner time. Are you staying here today?" He asked and I swear I saw a pig fly outside. Was Andy asking me how I was spending my day instead of barking orders on what I was supposed to do? "What?" He asked, probably because of the shocked look on my face.

"You're asking me what I'm doing today?" I said and he shrugged.

"Yeah, I guess so?" He said confused and I smiled and hugged him. It took him by surprise but he hugged me back. "I told you, I'm going to work harder to make you happy here. Starting by not dictating every little thing you do. I'm trying Vi." He said and I couldn't stop the smile on my face.

"I know you are. Thank you, Andy. I will stay here, that way you don't have to worry about what I'm doing okay? And when you come home I'll be right here waiting for you." I said smiling.

"I was hoping you'd say that. I have to get going. Have a good day. I'll try to check in on you from time to time."

"Stay safe Andy. Don't let them hurt you or anyone else." I said as I hugged him.
