Rose's POV

He placed me down on the leather couch draping a blanket over me. I was unsure of why he brought me up here and I was kind of scared of what he was going to do. He was the leader of the gang who I had tried to take down.

"Thank you," I softly said pulling the blanket closer to my body.

"You're welcome Rose, you've become a part of this family," he smiled kindly sitting at his desk.

"Did anyone tell you what I did? Because you wouldn't want me a part of the family anymore,"

"Jeff filled me in on everything and I understand where you are coming from because if someone was a threat to our family I would try to get rid of them too. What you did is what anyone would do to stay safe. But the difference is that you saved Jeff and told the CIA that you weren't going to do this mission anymore. You were honest with everyone in the end. Plus, Jeff has forgiven you and it was his life on the line so I don't see why I should have a problem with you. I know you were willing to give up everything for us. I couldn't have asked for anything more from you." He said smiling before sending a message on his phone.

"I am really sorry about the whole thing and I totally regret it all. Except meeting you guys, you have become my family and at first, I was unsure as I was taken against my will but I learned how caring you all were and Stephen came along." I blushed at his name.

"Oh Stephen, he is a troubled one. He has some commitment and trust issues as you can see. He has put his guard up and is scared to let you back in. He doesn't want to be hurt again. He had a good life growing up, he was very fond of his parents and they were both very loving. Although he dad was in the gang, he was very caring towards Stephen. He loved his mother dearly and would have done anything for her. But she cheated on his father with someone from another gang that is no longer together. That destroyed Stephen and his father. His father turned for the worst and became the ruthless leader of the Spades. He forced Stephen to start doing stuff for the gang at the age of 10. One day when they were out on a run, they ran into Stephens mother and the other gang leader. Stephens dad killed his mother because if he couldn't have her nobody could. His father tried to kill the leader but got killed in the attempt. Stephen witnessed it all." I had tears coming down my face as I listened to Todd tell me the things Stephen never did. Nobody deserved to go through that at any age. I understand why his walls were built so high.

"I had no idea about any of this, he never told me." I sniffled thinking of a little Stephen watching his parents get murdered, shaking their lifeless bodies trying to get them to wake up.

"He doesn't speak much about it, I just hope this helps you understand why he accused you of working with the other gang and why he is so hurt about you being part of the CIA. He will come around eventually or I will make him because you are the best thing that has ever happened to him. He is so much happier when you are around and he is much more fun to be around. When his parents died it really affected his fun-loving personality. His father was my best friend," he said sadly taking a sip of the whiskey next to him.

"I'm sorry to hear about your friend and I know Stephen is just hurt. I love him, I didn't really know it until it was too late. But I'm not sure he will ever recover from this," I said playing with the hem of the blanket. I thought about Stephen being happy and laughing casually on the beach something told me that may never happen.

"He just needs to calm down and sober up. I would suggest that you try and talk to him tomorrow." He gave me a small smile before getting up heading towards the door. I stood up with him and gave him a hug.

"Thank you for everything," I whispered before letting go. I looked back at him one last time before exiting the house. I had to go, I couldn't stay here anymore it was killing me to see what I had done to the gang. They were divided because of me and fight each other when they shouldn't even care for me. I ran down the street and into downtown where I could find a hotel to stay at while I tried to figure out a plan of where I could go. I found a little motel on the corner of 5th street and got a room.

-One Week Later-

I had been here for a week and nobody had found out where I was. I was under an alias at the motel given to me by the CIA and I didn't know if anyone had tried to contact me because I didn't have my phone or anything with me. I had contacted the CIA with the motel phone and they sent me a laptop where I could do some work while they figured out where I was going to be relocated. Justin insisted that I could always stay here if I changed my mind but I was sure that wasn't going to happen. I felt bad for Violet, for just leaving her without any note or anything but it was the only way to do it, she would have convinced me to stay.
