This had to be the most boring dinner party ever.

I was seated on a plush nude-colored couch, absentmindedly fiddling with the hem of my navy blue wrap around dress. Mikhail was going on and on about his home pack land and was telling me how I should visit and how I would be treated like a queen by everyone. In between, he would brag about the many accomplishments he had made as alpha so I was generally zoning out.

My mind had wandered to Kevin's arrival and how the Southfire alpha was on his way to Seralune. I sure hope this Alpha Dylan wasn't as egotistic as Mikhail. I discreetly looked around the living room, where everyone was having a few drinks.

I was nursing a single glass of wine, taking small sips as the night progressed. I wasn't eager to re-live a hangover after the most recent one I got. Mikhail, on the other hand, was on his sixth glass. But I vaguely remember Harry mentioning werewolves didn't get drunk so I wasn't entirely sure why they even drank alcohol at all. I doubt that brandy Mikhail was drinking even tasted good.

My eyes wandered over to Gummy who was talking to a beta and his wife, then to Louis who was leaning on a corner nearby with a drink in hand, watching what was going on in the room. He was dressed more formally with a black coat on over his usual white shirts and jeans. Louis had been quiet all throughout this dinner, very unlike his usual self. I tried talking to him a few times but every time Mikhail would pull me aside to introduce me to his other pack mates.

There really weren't many people around right now. After every one of his pack mates had eaten, only a little over a handful had stayed. I wasn't sure where the rest went, but I noticed only the high-ranking ones stayed.

I snapped out of it when I felt a hand on top of mine. I looked at Mikhail who was grinning at me.

"Do you want to tour the house with me?" he asked.

"Err... didn't we already do that?" I awkwardly laughed. His sudden touch caught me off-guard. He did tour us when we arrived, showing us the huge mansion of a pack house the Westwind had. It was, in my opinion, excessively large and lavish.

Although the interior was beautifully decorated, there were glass sculptures of wolves in varying sizes and poses in every room. Not to mention how grand everything was, like it was to show off how much wealth they had. The foyer even had a large glass and gold chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

It was very disconcerting.

"I meant the second floor," Mikhail grinned wider as if that would help convince me.

I wasn't entirely sure what made him think I'd want to go anywhere alone with him. I glanced at Louis who was already looking at me as he took a sip of whatever alcoholic drink he had.

"I... erm, I'm rather tired. I think Gummy and I should go," I said, standing up. Mikhail's hand dropped abruptly to his side.

He stood up and like nothing happened, he outstretched his hand in invitation, "It'll just be a short tour."

"Maybe some other time?" I said with a small forced smile. "How long will you be here for?"

"Lead Seer Sybil has graciously invited me to the annual full moon party. It's been quite a few years since I last attended so I accepted," Mikhail answered.

"Oh."

"It will my honor to escort you to the party, Elle," Mikhail said, looking at me like I should be happy he's "offering" to take me to the party.

I resisted crinkling my nose in disgust, "I'm sorry. I already promised Ha- Alpha Harry that I'd go with him."

Mikhail frowned, "You seem to be spending an awful amount of time with Harry."
