Chapter 15

Flamesky looked away from Bumblehop. His training had been going on for weeks. Bumblehop had introduced him to his friends, Soul, Loppingstrip, and Claw. Now Bumblehop expected to go with Loppingstrip to get an apprentice from Mouseclan.

"Well," Bumblehop asked jerking him out of his thoughts.

"Only if it will help my clan," Flamesky responded.

"Oh, don't you worry, it will help everyone in the long run." Bumblehop quietly mewed with a smirk on his face.

Flamesky never liked it when he smirked like that. It made it seem like he was up to more then he seemed.

"Fine," Flamesky sighed.

Padding up to Loppingstrip he could not help, but wonder how she got her ginger fur with golden stripes, black spots along her sides, black tail tip, and orange spots along her tail. Her fur patterns were more different then Falconstar's. Quietly he padded along side Loppingstrip they came up to the meadows that Moseclan lives in. Silently they padded into the camp. As they were walking Loppingstrip's ears laid flat as they past the medican cat den and headed to the apprentice den. There they stepped over a small white tom with a skull like grey marking over his face and a grey tail tip. They came up to a grey cat with light grey ears and a striped tail. Gently Loppingstrip gently nudged the she-cat awake.

Quietly she whispered, "Wake up Ivypaw."

"I'm awake," muttered Ivypaw, "If this is about my mother and my communication then leave me alone."

"We are here to lend you better training. Not to complain about your communication with you mother."

Flamesky could not help but notice that Ivypaw was staring at him while she sat up. It was as if she couldn't believe he was here, because of this it felt a little bit awkward.

Suddenly Ivypaw was meowing "Flamesky!"

"Yes," responded Flamesky quickly. How much of the conversation had he missed.

"Are you with Loppingstrip."

"Yes."

He had missed so much that Loppingstrip had introduced herself and many more.

"Well come on then Ivypaw. We have training to do."

The walk back seemed to be longer than the walk there. This just did not seem right. Training Mousestar's daughter in a dark place. Once again he wondered where they were training and what it was called. Bumblehop was intent on keeping it a secret. Which was highly suspicious. It did offer very good training though. It also made it easier to hunt and stop border fights, but was it worth it? Bumblehop would not be happy if he found out that he was second guessing why he was there. After all, Bumblehop is from Moonclan. Right? Was that true though. Was Bumblehop from Moonclan. He did live in a dark forest that seemed to cast an eerie orange glow, and if that was not enough evidence, he did kill kits for fun. Was it worth the risk? Flamesky found himself asking these questions and trying to find his place in the scheme of things. He was being trained by a murderer. To do what? Why did they need Ivypaw? What good would an apprentice be for Bumblehop's plan. By the time they got back they walked in on Bumblehop and a small gold kit talking. As they walked in the gold kit spun its hackles raised.

"Lightningkit? What are you doing here," Flamesky asked.

"I am just returning some information to my mentor," Lightningkit meowed.

"It was very good information, but now you are of no use," Bumblehop sweetly mewed.

Suddenly there was a yellowing white shine as Bumblehop unsheathed his claws and mewed, "Loppingstrip hold her down."

"Of course, Bumblehop," Loppingstrip purred touching noses with Bumblehop before racing after the frightened kit picking her up, "Don't you worry," she evily grind with her moulth full of golden fur, "It won't hurt."

With that she padded over to Bumblehop unsheathed her claws and ruffly dropped Lightningkit on the hard, cold, damp ground. Before she could run away Loppingstrip planted her paw hard on the poor kit's back. Drawing a little of sticky ruby blood. Bumblehop raised his paw and drove it down hard. Slitting Lightningkit's whole body in half. If Lightningkit did not die of the blow. Then she died of the loss of blood that poured out all at once. The blood glowed ruby like in the poor lighting. Everything went black. Flamesky woke to the sound of screaming. Lightningkit was dead.
