Chapter 5

Cadences POV

"Allison." I get her attention.

"Yes Cady?" She asked.

"Me and Derek are engaged again." I tell her.

"I know." She answers, with a smile,

"How am I supposed to get married without you by my side?" i ask, tears clearly forming in my eyes. 

"You will, because even though I won't be standing directly by your side, doesn't mean I won't there." She tells me, tears forming in her eyes while she rubs my arm. 

"Cadence, dear, we will always be with you and Derek." Talia tells me. 

"Cadence, I know that you were upset with what I did because I was bitten," My mom starts. "But I'm sorry, you were right. But being up here with these people gives me the perspective that I didn't have before. Werewolves aren't monsters, well most of them aren't. Your pack isn't. You guys help more than anyone could ever harm. I'm so proud of you." my mom finishes. I smile and hug her and she hugs me. 

"I love you mom." I tell her.

"I love you too, my dear." she tells me, then kisses my forehead. I look at my biological parents and look down, I know it might be weird for them to see. 

"I don't really know you guys but  I'm sorry. But I do have a question." I tell them.

"Cadence it's okay, we understand. And what's your question?" My biological mom asks. 

"Can you tell me about the story about the Beast of Gevaudan?" I ask them. 

"Well we told you that we are Valet's and the Beast. His name was Sebastian. Actually we are related to the Argents, and we will explain that soon. But let's keeping going along. Sebastian was a popular man among his community, but his sister was more popular. Marie-Jeanne Valet. the Best huntress around. After many attacks from the beast there were hunting parties trying to catch him and kill him. That is when she ran into a man named Henri Argent. He showed her all the tools such as wolfsbane and mountain ash that protects the people who aren't supernatural and is lethal to those who are. She took the mountain ash and some mistletoe and put it in to wine for everyone to drink. Then, Sebastian's best friend, Marcel, breaks his glass and has to go outside. Marie-Jeanne follows him to the well, then sees black blood. She is about to kill him, until he gives her a clue and tells her to go to to his cellar. There she finds all the bodies that the beast killed." My dad starts. 

"But it wasn't Marcel, was it?" I asked. He shook his head.

"No, he was like the first mercenary though. His connection to the beast is what made him bleed the black blood after he broke the glass with the poisonous contents. Marie-Jeanne figured it out and figured out who it was. Her brother, Sebastian was the beast. So for the next three years she hunted him and finally was able to kill him. With a pike soaked in mountain ash and wolfsbane and on a full moon, the took it and cut her hand with it so it would have His blood on it too. killing him." My biological dad said.

"She married Henri and that is how the Argent line started."  My biological mom said. 

"How was Sebastian turned into a werewolf?" I asked.

"He drank rainwater from a puddle of  a wolves tracks, on a full moon night." My biological mom said.

Third person POV

Derek was summoned to the hospital because an old friend apparently was there. He got there and went to the room Melissa McCall told him to go. But Melissa met him halfway there.
