Chapter 20

Scott, Stiles, And Lydia were at the McCall house with the Sheriff, Isaac, and Melissa.

"Cadence is alive? How?" The sheriff asked.

"We aren't completely sure. We just know that her heart beat was so slow no one could detect unless you listened for a good minute." Isaac informed.

"Medically that's impossible. Supernaturally isn't that still impossible?" Melissa asked this time.

"Well, for normal werewolves yes. Remember when Noshiko and Kira slowed Scott's heart down so slow that no doctor could detect it and Noshiko said that this was only possible because he was a true alpha?" Lydia asked and Melissa nodded, remembering the conversation. "Since Cadence is the Queen, an alpha, and a born werewolf even though she had to be bitten to spark what was hidden in her, she could handle the very slow heart beat. Which was slower than Scott's." Lydia finished and the two older adults nodded.

"Where is she? Does Derek know? Or Argent?" Sheriff asked.

"Cadence said she felt Derek and knew that he was coming. So we have no idea. But she said she had an errand to run and I'm pretty sure it was to see her dad." Scott jumped in. Just then, his phone started ringing.

"It's Derek." He announces to the group. All eyes were on him and his phone. He answered and pressed speaker.

"I'm coming." And then the line went dead.

Everyone stared at the phone.

"Cadence was right." Stiles said like 'on the bright side' type of tone.

There was a knock on Cadence's door, she closed the book she was reading to go open her door.

"Hey dad." She greeted, waited to be introduced to the man standing behind her dad. "Come in." She told both of them.

"Cadence, this is your uncle, Cory." Chris introduced.

"The famous Cadence Argent. Queen alpha werewolf. Nice to meet you." Cory greeted.

"And you," Cadence started. "Shall we?" She asked, while motioning to her living room. Her phone that was on silent and no vibration was sitting on her counter while more and more notifications pop up, calls going unanswered. Scott's face pops up once again and soon the screen goes black. And his face pops up again to go black. Again.

"She's not answering." Scott told the people standing around him.

"Where is she now?" Lydia asked.

"I don't know. We could split up to try and find her. 2 of us go to her house. 2 go to Argents place. And the other 2 go to her office." Scott said.

"Me and Lydia will go to her office." Sheriff spoke up first.

"What? No!" Stiles objected.

"Yes." Sheriff told his son. Scott and Isaac but back a laugh while Lydia and Melissa didn't mind to be so obvious. Sheriff led Lydia out of the McCall house.

"What the hell?" Stiles whispered.

"Stiles. Come with me to Argents place.Isaac go with my mom to Cadences house." Scott divides the remaining up.

"So for the last few decades. I've decided it was best to stay away from Gerard and Kate." Cory told her and Chris even though Chris knew the story.

"What about when Kate was under the Calaveras watch?" Cadence asked.

"Araya kept me away for my own protection. And i guess Kate's too. Gerard never knew who took me in. So Araya kept it a secret. I was her 2nd i command with Severo. They knew that as soon as both were dead I'd come back to my family. Whoever was left." Cory explained.
