OLIVE

"Why are we going to Kingston all of a sudden?" I yelled while packing my bag

"Honey, your dad and I thought it will be nice to spend some family time away from the city for awhile." mom said going out of my room

"I know why you need family time out of nowhere" I whispered still putting clothes in my bag, "you know they just want to take me to the that old father D'Mello." I said to Jason who obviously stood in his favourite corner, hands folded at his chest and leaning on the wall as always.

"Maybe its a good thing." Jason said

"Pass me that shirt, and how exactly is it a good thing?" I asked

"Well, maybe father D'Mello can find solution to your problem" he replied and passed me the shirt which I folded and kept it inside my bag as well.

"What problem?"

"You know, how you see spirits"

"Seeing ghosts isn't like a disease alright, it's inbuilt in me and haven't the sexton tried enough since I was little?"

"So what's the harm in giving a try? More like a vacation for you."

"And what will you be doing during the course of time?"

"Haunt around like I've always done"

"But what if I actually got cured? I wouldn't see you anymore and moreover how will I help you?" I gave him a panicking look, I really wished to help him. It was like a priority to me now, we were enough close for me  not to let him haunt this way anymore.

"That's okay, if it means you'll get rid of this curse and lead a normal life." he said with a pure smile and I knew he was being authentic.

"I don't remember being normal like ever, so this is my normal, me and the vision. Why don't you come along?" I said while sitting on my bed

"You sure?" He said with suprise

"Yes pretty much!" I gave him assurance

Next I know we were loading our baggages in the car for what I expect to be a, lousy and so called "family vacation".

We left our place and around one in the noon after dad settled all the remaining work. I e-mailed an application at the office for leave as well. And around entered Kingston around half past seven. I do remember the blurry memories of the city and its small streets but I saw them more vividly now. We reached at father D'Mello's place which was like an old churchyard with a cottage house of his own near the church, beind the church was the city cemetery and up front was a wide spread lawn.

"Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Wright, and oh our little Oli has grown up so much" Father D'Mello said with a smile as he walked down the church stairs which were like five to six in number and hugged dad.

Father D'Mello was an old man in almost his late sixties, he had grey hair and face with some wrinkles. He wore a white gown with robe down his shoulders and a rosary twisted around his also wrinkly hand.

"How are you dear?" He came close to greet me, but his smile soon turned into what can be said as a suspicious look, like he was trying to sense something around, like he was trying to sense Jason who stood right behind me. He again gave a smile back and welcomed us inside his cottage. My heart did skip a beat and in not so positive way and all I could hope for in the moment was that maybe he didn't feel the company of a ghost with me. Moreover, that the ghost was someone I was comfortable around, someone whom I invite myself. Olive you need to be alert and act nutureal about Jason's existence, I said to myself in the head and entered his house. Then he showed us our rooms which were on the first floor and asked to come down for dinner after freshining up.
