OLIVE
"Hello, This is Olive Wright from 'The Entertainer' magazine" I said as I called this man that could been a major lead in Jason's death case.
"Hello" a mumbling voice came from the other side
Can I talk to Mr. Chad Dalhousie please? This is regarding his friend Jason." As soon as I replied the phone got disconnected, so I dial the line again and this time to be more quick, "Hello, see I don't know what is all this about but I really need to know who is Jason for real."
"Mr. Dalhousie isn't home-ah no, he's unavailable for a while, sorry for your inconvenience." a lady voice answered
I could hear someone instructing the lady from behind, "this is about your friend, and if you care even a bit, I don't know what your problem is but this is my number so call me back when you feel like answering my questions." I replied and hung up the phone aggressively, what could be holding him back from letting me know Jason's identity.
"Who were you talking to?" Ed asked as he came inside the main door of the house.
"Where did you go so early?" I asked
"I was just you know, exploring the churchyard" he replied
"That sounds great, did you see the church from inside? It's beautiful and mesmerizing." I asked him with a smile as we walked towards the table for breakfast
"Oh I did, it sure is all that you said." Ed said while pulling the chair for me. We sat there and had our breakfast together.
"May we please have a talk Olive dear?" The sexton asked as he came inside the main door of the house
"Yeah sure, what is it about?" I said as we both turned at him
"I mean, may we talk alone?" He rephrased his question
"Oh, you both should carry on, I've to go meet someone anyway." Ed said, picking up his phone he walked straight out of the house.
"You could have asked it right there, poor Ed must have felt so uncomfortable" I said to father D'Mello with a rather disappointment
"I didn't mean to and I think he's a very understanding young man so that must be alright." He replied moving towards the sitting near the fireplace
This looked like some deposition and I was being called to be accused of crimes I don't think I'm guilty of, or maybe I am but this 'blame Olive' session is something I wasn't at all ready for. Anyway, I followed him and sat in a chair along with my parents and the sexton. I knew this is excatly why we had the so called family vacation out of nowhere. I thought I could avoid this by not staying at the house much but here I was caught up with my parents and the sexton ready to get a piece of their mind.
"We will like to talk to you about your eh- what should I call it" my dad looked at my mom for a fair suggestion while she gave me comfort to speak openly to me, "your power." He said, bending forward looking right in my eyes
"Olive hun, I can feel you've been lying to us about your condition. What you're going through scares us, we're your parents and we can't see you living in two different worlds, considering that one of them is quite scary." My mom said with her concerned full eyes.
I felt bad for them and I don't want to see my mother like this but she needs to understand I'm fine just the way I am. I know sometimes things get lethal but hey, I'm alive and happy. Honestly I've always been a simple girl living in my cacuoon, staying alone has become my habit since I was little and it no more affects me. I am who I am and seeing ghosts is a part of me, these every time talks do nothing but make me feel more miserable. I could feel cold run down my spine and tears were about to hit my eyes with the constant nagging by all the elders, but I tolerated it when a someone held my hand in theirs and I looked sideways to see Jason sitting next to me. I was much relaxed by his presence.
