I watched as the Freelander king walked into the courtyard. I watched as him and his son, with their fine clothes lined with gold thread. I watched as they walked past on the ground made of marble. I watched as they walked by without a care in the world. I watched as they walked onto the marble courtyard and they decided they were safe with their guards. They were not.

I grabbed my bow. It was a cheap one anyone from any of the kingdoms could buy. It held the fingerprints of another. I pulled the arrow out of my pack. Now, this was the true beauty. She was made from the last tree of it's kind and carved with intricate designs. The arrow was one of a kind. I really loathed the idea of getting it bloody, but one must do what one must do.

I only had one shot, but one shot was all I needed.

I put myself in a ready position and I prepared myself for the shot.

One.

Two.

Three.

The arrow flies so quickly I almost miss it. It lands with a thud inside the heart of the target. The world seems to slow as the king falls on to the marble floor. My work here is done, now it is time to run.

Without another glance at the fallen tyrant, I dropped the bow. The guards should be showing up any time now. There they are, but they don't see me. I am now invisible.

I jump off the building just the way I was trained to. 'Light without a sound, light without pressure, light like a ghost' My trainers would be proud. I slip past the castle walls with ease, only a few minutes later I find myself in the village.

I check to make sure I am visible, I see my hands. Good, I don't have to worry about that again, It hadn't happened in a while, but before I used to have everything but my hands.

"Where would he be?" I mutter to myself even though I know the answer. I started heading over to the nearest bar. Wherever he was before this, Killen would definitely end up here. I pushed through the doors and scanned the crowd. A mix of nobles and commoners all gathered around a table. I chose that table.

As I made my way through the crowds I found the familiar redhead. "And there she is, the Ghost Queen herself," His blue eyes shined with mischief and his lips lined with a smirk.

"I doubt that I am currently invisible," I crossed my arms and glared at him. "But you are right to call me a queen. So, as your queen, I say it is time to go."

"But your majesty," He frowned. "I
was telling the subjects of your greatness." He gestured to the crowd around him.

I gave him another glare, and he finally sighed. He slowly stood up reaching his full height, a good six and a half feet. Nearly a foot taller than me. His broad frame seemed to take up half of the room. He started following me out of the bar but not before giving a charming smile to his crowd of people.

We walked out of the village at a fast pace. When I deemed we were out of earshot, I finally spoke.

"Did you do your job?" I asked. He was assigned with killing the Duchess of Frenerds. He nodded. "How?"

"A little bit of wine and a hint of eternal flower leaf," Eternal flower did not mean eternal life, it meant eternal death. It was an extremely lethal poison that with half a drop would kill in a matter of seconds. It was painless though.

"Why like that? There are better ways of death?"

"A lady shouldn't die in a bloody way," He says referring to my normal methods. My methods were fast but they did leave more of a stain. "she should die with a smile on her face," I shook my head at him. Killen and his theatrics.
