We were only able to ride for two hours before we were forced to stop due to Sammy's injury. None of the siblings have said anything, or maybe they did and I wasn't paying attention. But Max's grip on my stomach was starting to hurt.

I tugged on Jachin's mane and he came to a halt. I gave a whistle and he knelt down slowly. I climbed off and grabbed Max, who came down eagerly. I offered a hand to Amanda but she shook her head and declined. It took her a moment or two to get off Jachin, but she eventually made it.

I looked over at Killen, he was leaning Sammy on the trunk of a tree. Sammy was asleep and the arrow was no longer in his leg, but the gash that I won't begin to describe was. Killen's blue eyes met mine, 'Do you have any bandages?'

I shake my head. 'They are all in the saddle packs at the Inn.'

He gives a small sigh and then looks at me again. 'Your cloak?'

'That should work,' I look around. 'put up the illusions and I will handle Sammy.'

With one final nod, he goes and he leaves. When he is gone, Amanda coughs. "Can you two stop doing that?"

I look at her, "Stop doing what?"

"Whatever it is your doing!" She throws her hands up in frustration. "Communicating without talking!"

She's referring to the link I share with Killen. I decide to brush it off and act like I don't understand. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Ughh!" She groans, I don't know what her problem is but I decided to go back to the real one. I look back at Sammy.

I don't have any more knives on me. That's when I remember. I reach for the heel of my boot, I click a button and the bottom sole slides just enough for me to grab the metal hilt of a knife. Aha! It's a classic, but it never gets old.

I reach for the bottom of my cloak, it's a dark black velvet and I have grown rather attached to it. I am honestly a little pained to destroy such a fine piece of craftsmanship.

'Like you haven't destroyed worse,' Killen's voice appears in my head. I scowl and I can feel him chuckling on the other end. I continue on with my task and start cutting the velvet into long strips. The knife cuts through the velvet like it was butter. It's very satisfying, Death Clan blades are always made with the best quality.

Once I am done marveling at the knife I put it back into my boot, ignoring a sigh from Amanda and walk over to Sammy. I take the cloth and I gently wrap it over the wound. I have never been good at healing, nor did I have a need to.

You see typically I am the one sending people to the Healing wing. Very rarely do I ever go there. When I do go, it is to visit Killen.

Sammy's stirs in his sleep and I make sure to be extra gentle when wrapping. I hear small footsteps walking over. "Is my twin going to be okay?"

"He'll live Max." I look up to the child shaking his head.

"Will he be okay?"

"I'm sure he will," I direct my attention back towards wrapping his leg.

"Are you sure?" He's hovering over me, checking on his brother.

"I'm sure."

"Are you double sure?"

"I'm-" He interrupts me.

"Are you swearing on your life sure?" He's looking at me as if trying to decipher something. Before I can answer Amanda walks over to her brother.
